Drug That Can Give You Perfect Visual Memory

i found this fascinating. the word drug is used as a general term, not like a recreational drug.
to paraphrase the article, some scientists found that using a certain protein to a certain part of the brain greatly improves visual memory capabilities.

they tested on rats and as opposed to them remembering an object for about an hour, they were able to remember this object for 2 months. astounding results (how would they test that? haha)

how would this change the way we think if it became available to us?

 

Hope is something than may sustain a man in a situation that demands death it may keep a man happy in sad times, hope can do a lot of things for a lot of ppl.


But is there a point where the price of hope is to high to give never to think never but to sell? Always its immoral but if its in a form of a pill disguised as medicine how high can we go very very high. Cancer treatment drugs for eg and so on are ridiculously over priced its not because of the price of production rather its based on how much are u willing to pay for ur own or say ur child's life or well being. Now the ppl who sell the stuff may justify the prices with something like... insurance will pay for such expenses or its still accessible to a small extent for the general public whatever helps them sleep at night.


And that got me thinking what if pharmaceuticals in the future will be able to increase the IQ of a person (like the article says well to some what more limited IQ boost that I have in mind) how much will that go for? Its not essential for survival yet its very desirable there is no moral dilemma here so even if u make the price astronomical there still will be plenty of customers it will be a small % of population but it would be easy and profitable.


But what could this scenario produce ppl that are already wealthy and probability power full to some extent would be the ones to buy the pill in turn making them self untouchable at any level to the general public. Could this over time do to genetics+the high IQ pill and wealth of heritage produce a sub species that are kings to us. And what would this lead to I would think to a sub group of population that would slowly but surely own us all the group that is more knowing and more power full to a huge extent compared to an average Joe in other words falls gods now that sounds like a great idea lets keep on selling hope shell we.

 

This would be awesome.
