In the last few months I've had several dreams where a scenario involving Vietnam-esque battles. In one the battle started in my back yard and moved into the jungle, in others it just starts in the jungle. Most of the time I am in some type of platoon or whatever and Im walking along when I learn that the enemy is coming.
They show up and I hide at first (I always feel ashamed for hiding in the dream), but then I get discovered and I have to kill someone to save myself, but its always kind of "implied" that I kill them, I never actually see it. Then my gun ALWAYS stops working at a crucial moment and I hide somewhere and narrowly escape being killed.

    What does this mean?

You are facing a battle in your life, and you are afraid, and are trying to avoid dealing with it. So you hide. But you can't hide forever, it comes to find you and you have to face it, but you are unsure of yourself as well as your enemy, you fight but without confidence, your gun fails and you retreat again.

Is this true? I dunno, I just came up with it. I do believe dreams reflect life, though. They may not have messages from beyond, but they come from YOU, the same person who lives your life, and experiences your experiences; naturally they will connect in some way. If this is being repeated, maybe you can learn by looking at the different framework that your dream takes place in (obviously you aren't fighting a war), and notice the connects in your waking life. Think of a dream as "your life in symbols," and that might help you out.
