They look very nice, and only 7 days old! I love the name Oshinn too btw, I've used that alias in the past, only as Oshin.

why thanks. it's my raymond chandler hat. odd thing is when i bought it i had to compromise because it is a man's hat and was too loose, but now that my hair's puffed up it fits just fine. :)

ok folks... better pics now... my friend today said "i think you should skip the dreads, go back to your cute, short cut"... this is the same person who i combed them out for before... bleh! anyway, these are from today. yes, i backcombed a bit in the front. the back is currently turning into a nest.

Your hair is looking really good! Boo on short hair--I mean it's right for some people, but dreads look so damn sexy on a woman! Anyhow, love the beads too--there's something about those basic, slightly oversized geometric shapes that just looks cool

They look great, even better since they aren't under the hat. Just imagine what it'll be like a year from now!

i know, i'm sooo excited... my hair seems to be pleased with its knotted state, so i'm just going to let it do the damn thing for the next however long a time.

looking good, but doesn't that big ol bead ever hit you in the eye? that's also a spiffy hat, and you look cute without the glasses...

honestly... ur hair doesnt even look like dreadlocks... they dont look like locks or anything... dreadlocks r tight and noticeable.. i think u should go back to ur natural hair look. or start over. seriously speaking.

Your dreads are looking great. Don't listen to the negative people they don't know what they're talking about.

Emma guirl, I have read all three of your posts and all of them are negative in some way. Please, stop putting people down. I think you are the one with the wrong ideas about dreads and the locking process. Seriously, stop spreading negativity and educate yourself before you rudely give advice.

i am not trying to be negative.. it just annoys me on how so many ppl think that their locks r dreadlocks.. i am being honest!! i dont have ethnic hair.. but i will dread my hair to be locked tightly and neatly so they look like dreadlocks.. the natural way doesnt cut it.. at all.. i dont get how they seem like dreadlocks???... back combing twisting applying some sort of wax.. helps em to be much nicer than the natural way...

I think what people are trying to say to you follows along with the old addage of "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all". It is understood what your opinion is. But on the same token, be respectful of the people in the forum. We're all here to share information, not to tell people that they don't look good.

I'm a fan of Constructive Criticism
Instead of saying "you don't look nice with dreads"
Say something like "They look good, but I'm not a fan of the fuzzies"

The reason I quoted you? Just.. don't pass judgement on people or their locks. No one on this forum is really allowed to say what dreadlocks are or are not. Knotted hair by any other name would be as sweet.

right same as that.. i feel i have the rights to speak my mind as well... yes the fuzziness r included when it comes to the hair/locks.. whom to y i am saying how im not so fond of it. if some1 else had agreed with me on what im saying, then it becomes debatable.. but then again its about ur opinion not about facts, cuz i never proclaimed it has to be perfect or what the exact right way is.. this or that.. i only explained how i feel they dont look like dreadlocks to me cuz of the methods ppl practice and feel like "o now just cuz they r some what locked and i have a couple.. they r absolute dreadlocks..." i think u really gotta work on em.. then letting em do whatever and be like ok! done.. now i got dreadlocks.. if ur making up ur own "do" thats a whole different story!

Emma, I hope for your sake that you're as young as you sound, I would hate to think an adult is as closed-minded as you are. Your know it all-ness is very reminiscent of my 12 year old. Despite what you may think, you don't know all and there is more than one path to the same destination in life. I hope you learn that.
