Okay I really love the whole Boho/dreads look...But I'm not sure if it's "right" for me? Especially being female and all, typically I see guys with dreads... Maybe thin dreads, big ones, or no? This is me-----> <img src="http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90/vanstanhan/Picture082.jpg" border="0"> <br><img src="http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90/vanstanhan/Picture088.jpg" border="0">
i think they'll work out nicely =) did you already get started? 'cause the 2nd pic kinda looked like you already had a few dread babies i prefer thicker dreads, and i regret getting small ones (though mine are completely varied) from what i can tell, it seems like people who don't know much about dreads and have not seen them often favor thinner, consistent dreads i know i favored thinner, well-rounded, consistent dreads before i got started, but now after i got into dreadlocks i wish i had lots of thick ones dunno. i guess it's really just personal preference
mine are all sizes as well, i love my thinner ones cause so much easier to clean but love my thick ones too foir different reasons dont regret 1 turnin out exactly the way it did i think your hair already wants to dread dont it? looks like u mightsa used a chemical process on it a few times but looks like it really wants to dread up on its own..if i hadta guess, id guess youd have thicker not thinner ones oh and maybe thats just rounbd your area cause lotsa beautiful sistas got dreads
i think dreads look lovely on everyone. do it! i like all different sizes of dreads, just let your hair do what it wants and see what happens!
Nah I don't have dreads I just crimped my hair A LOT and didn't shower, lol typical me. I really want dreads...they're sexy as heck. But my parents are probably gonna be all like NO!!!
you would look sooo good with dreads! i cant believe you dont have them already, you look like a dready spirit check out the inspiration thread to get an idea of how thick you want your dreads.
^ There we go, a little Code fixin' was all it took. I agree dreads would look SICK on you! Namaste, John.
Thanks...I heard someone say you need to have 100 posts to post an image, so haha yeah. And thanks again, I'm gonna prob. beg my parents soon about it.
Well, I didn't come about this to my parents, they found out on their own. I've been put through alot of punishment for refusing to obey, but that's my choice. I'm in it for the Spiritual aspects of things. If you want dreads just to look cool or whatever, then if your parents say no, just wait until you're 18, because they WILL give you hell if you deny. Good luck. Namaste, John.
haha nah not exactly to look cool, I just love the feeling of them. And I guess to feel cool. Haha. thanks. <3
Okay so I did my hair like I was doing dreads but I didn't put anything in it to hold it...so what do you think? (sorry if it doesn't show....)
ok looks good but loosly twisted u dont want or need ti put anything in to hold em if u use anything, use a few beads only looks like some sections are fairly big and keep in mind that they will shringk and thicken, and any hairs near the rootsds that cross will try sucking in the surrpounding dreads just leave em be now and wash em with bronners or something and shake em out (dont worry if they fall out they'll reform on theyre own they'll definately look great, but they'll loook bad before they look good enjoy the crazyness
Looking good! I'm with Soaring Eagle - just let it go and have fun. It's so great to see all these 15 y/o's letting their hair dread and into the spiritual aspects of living with locks. Jeez, when I was 15 I was keeping my hair < 1 inch long and dying it crazy colors. I didn't let it dread till I was 17 sometime... and it was a good year or so from then before I really started to realize what they meant to me. ... Ahh, memories!
how do I get the layered look in my dreads? I don't like that it shows the side of my face ...i dont know why i just dont so how do I get that? Smaller sections?
