Dread timeline

I've had my lovelies for only 4 months...so theyre still babies..but this is how my dreads started...and how they progressed thus far (I'm really bored...humor me)

Day one:

so what do you guys think? I know the roots could be alot tighter..I'm just really lazy

Ummm can i ask why you decided to start by platting them??
just curiuos because ive never dseen that turn out well because you get real dreads at the top and scruffy plats at the bottom :S

 

if you look closely you can see they're not braids, but twists! that seems like a great way to start to me! btw you are so cute in the first pic. Very naturally pretty.

 

Ahh yea i see now... but sure still this isnt knotts this is twists... im not having a go im just curious. Was there a reason you descided not to back comb or wool rub? They look really cool ass twists by the way.

 

You have no clue how much you look like my cousing, cept she doenst have dreads. I really did think you were her, but then i realized that i just saw her on thanksgiving and she didnt have dreads then....

how long did it take you to twist it and did you do it yourself?

I like dreads better when they are started from twisting as opposed to just ratting them out they look cleaner I think you did a great job and you're very pretty

 

thanks...I didn't do the twists myself...some salon did it. It was the only way my parents would allow me to get them...and its so much simpler to have them on my side. Besides, it was their money they were throwing away, not mine. One majorly good thing about starting with twists is that you get a nice even part...I eventually back combed the roots ...the only problem I found with twists is that you get a million loops..or at least I do..

I'd miss running my hand through my hair. I play with my hair all the time. Do you miss doing that?

 

Nah not really..because I can still play with my hair...in fact..thats about all I do during school now
