Drank 3/4 of a botle of cough syrup, amussed myself with a plastic bag for 3 hours

Just tried dxm for the first time, it was fun, but i was slightly dissapionted to me it just felt like a comonation of being drunk and high. i though it would be cool to start a forum with everyones dxm expriences wether it be a trip or just getting high...

 

low doses are a drunk/stoned feeling. higher doses are very dissociative. outer body experiences... etc. but u can't function for shit. with higher doses its better to just chill and lay down in the dark. try it with a strobelight! u sure u downed the right kind. there are 4 different levels/plateau's. u were probably on a 1st or low 2nd plateau trip. its fun watchin movies on a dose like that.

The higher plateaus on DXM are stronger than LSD, so if you want intensity, then don't worry. You really need to respect DXM, don't assume it will be weak. To take a large enough dose for a third plateau, which I wold recommend you try before going for a fourth, I suggest you use sources of DXM that don't cause too much nausea. SWIM says that robogels or other similar gels work well for that, as well as apparently Delsym (which is a 12-hour long lasting syrup btw) which sits very invisibly in your stomach and also has an at least decent taste. FYI, don't take anything with active ingredients other than DXM, that's just bad for you, dangerous, as well as unpleasant. The non-active ingredients in DXM products, that your body has to digest, is about comparative to a night of heavy drinking, so don't lose any sleep over it (or get in a mind loop overt it ).

Yeah, but see were also talking about a different OTC here... ur NyQuil contains Doxylamine succinate its one of the many sedating antihistamines used as a short-term sleep aid. NyQuil... Night... right?

whats funny is in other mixes of OTC with Doxylamine. its used as a treatment for tension headache and other types of pain. its also available in combination with vitamin B6 and its used to prevent morning sickness in pregnant woman. it does have side-effects in some people like dry mouth, ataxia (incoordination of muscle movements), urinary retention, and drowsiness. so i wouldnt be surprised if u are one to feel like shit after taking it...

What were talking about here is Dextromethorphan (DXM) which has its uses in medicine, from pain relief to psychological applications. when its taken at doses higher than medically recommended, dextromethorphan acts as a dissociative hallucinogen. its also classed as an NMDA receptor antagonist (blocks/or reduces signals to the conscious mind, like senses.)

But, like any drug... super high doses has its risks so becareful and know what ur taking/doing. after a big trip, i usually feel an afterglow as i would when i trip on weed. the next day everything to ME feels like new, but kinda hazy u know? like theres a different perception. it all seems dreamy and has a warm glow. especially in the morning with the sun. but all in all it feels great.

 

The bottom line in my opinion any one over the age of 16 taking cough medicine to get high should be pretty ashamed. Its not something I would be to happy to tell people I do !!!! I woiuld feelk more comfortable telling people I shoot up or smoke crack then telling people I down bottles of cough syrup or take 40 gel caps of Robitussin to get high !!!! Do you always judge a book by its cover? There are plenty of terrible drugs out there, and DXM isn't one of them. DXM is an extremely unique drug, and many users think it's better than anything else, whether psychedelic or its dissociative cousins like K and PCP. Besides, do you know how they cook up lots of other drugs? This is sold legally so you know it's pure and you're sure of the dose. It doesn't taste disgusting for everyone, and you don't have to meddle in the gruesome drug culture to buy some. It's not a toxin, it is has tremendous spiritual potential if you choose to go that route. What's the problem?

In pill form DXM is not nasty, it is tasteless, and some syrups taste better than others. Some people have also obtained pure DXM powder from the internet, although it is illegal to do so for purposes other than chemistry.

DXM products do not contain toxins. They're marketed to the public as a cold remedy, not even OTC, there are no toxins in there, read the label. Now many people prefer a DXM high like CCCs that are, aside from cheaper and in pill form, containing additional active ingredients when, combined with DXM, can cause severe liver and kidney damage as you and I have both metionned previously in this thread. Other than this one report, remember that DXM used to be used medically as an anesthetic to black people out for operations, in doses obviously greater than recreational because it blacks you out. DXM was discontinued in this capacity because some patients reported hallucinations. So it was approved for medical use initially, and its discontinuation has nothing to do with brain damage.

I've seen that intervention episode, and the kid uses cough and cold products combining a mix of active ingredients that is very damaging to yoru body and mind. Typically, the show does not make this point clear at all.

You say that drugs need to be respected. I certainly hope that everyone reading this understands that. DXM is one of the most versatile and dynamic drugs out there. Unlike speed which sort of plasters you into a state of suspended coherency, DXM just gives you more control of your mind and body, and gives the user the option, to an uncanny degree as far as drugs go, to consciously choose to more or less distract themselves away from body and mind(fulness) in imaginative fantasy or conversely to become more fully present and mindful in the Now. This is why all sorts of people use DXM, whereas you have less people abusing things like psychedelics because you cannot so easily use them for escapism. Those links state health damage/risk of hospitalization when combining DXM with other ingredients... it should also be noted that its dangerous taking any cough syrup with an MAO inhibitor (antidepressant drugs) within the past 14 days, life threatening side effects can occur if you take a cough or cold medicine before the MAO inhibitor has cleared from your body. (this is @ medical dosage)

to me it is like an acid or shroom trip, u think i took this daily? hell no, i waited a week/weeks to a month before any other big trip came into mind, i respected it! just as stated on other reports where there should be a waiting inbetween trips. if ur taking this EVERY single day then yeah im sure it'll fuck u over, but thats just common sense.

i would much rather tell someone i used dxm over crack an heroin. oh and theres other studies that have put dxm to use in other medical applications for treatment of painful diabetic neuropathy. this is no way on the level of solvents, or i feel damn bad for them diabetic patients.

sorry about the mix up... pun pun. its not a bend of facts, those articles posted the kids are taking a mix, theres acetaminophen in those triple C's. high doses of acetaminophen is the cause of liver damage, heart attack, stroke, and death. its the other ingredients in the cough medicine these kids abused without knowing, or knew but didn't care. to tell u the truth i can't remember my last trip... as in when i last tripped. i'd say almost half a year now, i haven't been around any sort of drug for a long time. maybe caffeine, coffees good in the morning... i do miss mary though.
