Now the BS part is wanting to wait till later so they can nail this kid as an adult. They claim it is because they are not equiped to deal with an 8 yea old murder suspect. I find it bull shit. I mean if they intended on charging you back when your a minor they need to do so as a minor no matter what your age is when they get around to it. The crime was commited with the mentality of a minor (he is 8 years old) why in say 7 to 10 years is his crime commited as an adult?? He would be an adult that commited a crime when he was a minor. That would be like saying its okay to have sex with 8 years olds and nothing will be done but in 7 to 10 years they might have a trail against a person for doing so.

I am so against this wait and then attempt to prosecute as an adult. I feel they do this just to get more time out of a crime even though justice is obviously not being served.

They claim there is no returned mental evalution back yet so why go further? I mean obviously an 8 year old kid who admits (no telling what they told this kid) he shot and killed two poeple because he said his 1000th spanking was going to be his last has issues or total self defense. What, did they expect an 8 year old to know to call social services or something??

I am pretty enraged by this, alot of youth seemed to be getting robbed by the 2 view system, hell alot of people are too.

i am a firm believer in teens being tried as a adult but this is a child not a teen..really is a sad case...

 

I am having issues even with the teen deal. I mean its not that I dont believe a teen does not know right from wrong but rather how is it a teen is too young to know enough about sex with a person older than a teen but they know enough about a teen hurting a person older than a teen?? Its a double standard. Its like a woman who is at a bar, is drunk, leaves with a drunk male can call it rape because she was not in control of her senses but the male can not use that as a defense??

I believe in a one rule deal. If being drunk is a defense for stupidity then all drunk drivers need off too.

 

yeah but in the case of sex the burden of morality is on the adult not the teen..

while i agree in many cases the line is blurry and often people are charged with a crime when it is unwarranted (like when a 18 year old is charged for having sex with a 15 year old) the laws are still there and if your a teacher having sex with your students or some 20 something guy doing a 13 year old,you should know better..

the point is when a teen is charged with a crime against a person they full well know its wrong just as a adult having sex with a minor does and they should face the consequences the same as a adult in extreme circumstances..

 

See the law is wrote to be so interpetive instead of cut and dry. If they want it that way let parents decide. Hell I would not minded shooting a person for trying to mess with my kids when they were young.

I just hate double standards is all. i have heard about too many cases both ways. Kids with fake id in a bar, navy guy 21 picks her up they have sex and he is not a sex offender. seems fucked up to me, she was in an aduklt place, with an adult drink and adult id wanting to commit adult games and he is the criminal.

I guess the sex makes the difference, lol Ever notice too that women in general, not always get lighter sentences than men for the same crimes?? Like robbery and such? Could be just a news thing too, i mean I have to honestly admit I have not spent research time into it really.

 

oh i agree its not cut and dry. i we have a very good friend in prison right now because two girls lied to him about their age,and he never even actually got laid he was caught with his pants down so to speak and that was all it took.
dillis FEMALE cousin is in prison for being 18 and having sex with a 15 year old ..

CA has it up for under 3, some states have it wrote that doing so oin public is considered abuse because of emotional humiliation or public humiliation and with that they can attempt to prosecute.

You know what's funny? When you're an adult, at least here in Texas, if you slap someone with an open palm, it's not assault and it's not abuse as far as the law is concerned. When Daniel's ex-girlfriend lied to the cops about him beating her, they asked him if he hit her with a closed fist or an open hand "as a form of discipline." Apparently, "disciplining" your spouse by a slap is still a-okay. But the way I see it is if that's deemed okay, then a smack on the butt when a kid is out of line is okay. Not to mention, look at animals with their babies. They start getting out of line and they get bitten. Same concept, except biting each other would be disgusting, lol.

 

When I first moved here in 1997 I overheard two cops talking in a resturant about that very same thing. I am not sure if its still the same now but sure struck me as odd. Hmm maybe that was what my ex needed

 

Yeah, this whole hooplah happened in 2003. So it wasn't all that long ago.

 

I think it should be illegal to spank your kids in public. I think if you are caught you be forced to not only go to parenting classes, but also to classes that teach you (the parent) how to act appropriately in public places.
I think it should be illegal to spank your kids in general, but I am not a parent yet so I might change my mind. But I won't change my mind on hitting your kids in public...I mean come on...

I had to badger Andy into agreeing with me that we won't spank our kids.
It was a huge freaking argument. Prob the longest and most serious one we've been in.
I think a lot of people spank their kids because they were spanked and it's hard for a lot of people to admit their parents may have been wrong. It's learned behavior and the deisre to pretend you had a perfect childhood.
