im sick and tired of the man trying to get rid of public skating like here in Tennesee you cant skate in public till 5 pm now its ridiculous any suggestions If peace equals love and love equals peace then with both we can change the world
I think your best bet would be to form some sort of advocacy group. I saw on the news the other day that some schools are using skate boarding as part of their gym class ciriculum. If you could get a handful of students and their parents together to partially fund this you could get to skate an hour a day, and get high school credit for it too. this would probably do more than anything else to help change the perception of skate boarding. right now, it scares a lot of people. it's seen as a hobby for risk-junkies and 'punk' kids. if you could get it accepted as part of a school ciriculum, you could reach the entire community at once, and help it become seen as a healthy sport. Also, you'll need to advocate for more responsibility in the skater community. Don't grind on public property (how would you like to spend 1,000s of dollars because some kid wanted to play on your concrete), and remember that when the elderly fall down, they stay down. I've seen a couple of skaters nearly knock over an old person without really noticing.
