For a few days before my period I get really nauseous. Not enough to throw up, but enough to wear I feel just ugh. i should mention that I suffer from endometriosis.

This does happen to me *sometimes*, but not always. I've found that recently, it happens a bit more often than in the past.

Kastenfrosch: (bist du deutsch?) I like the picture :) But lately, I've been wondering if "Iraq" is maybe Arabic for "Armageddon"...

Bloody_Kisses: this has been known to happen to me in the past - there does seem to be a connection. But I'm a borderline with major depression, so I've been through more suicidal days than I care to remember. This past winter was especially harsh.

The nausea's caused by a drop in blood pressure. One way to avoid this is to eat small amounts of decent more often. Have your regular meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and eat inbetween. Slow-realise foods like bread, pasta etc are much better for you.
    Hope it helps!

This happens to me with every period. It is as bad as a few days of morning sickness. I have both endometriosis (in remission) and chronic migraines (very active.) I think it is related to both. I have a prescription for a medication called Compazine, which is the only thing which allows me to get out of bed on bad days, with migraine and the nausea. I used to get REALLY sick when I was on the birth control pill, too, and the nausea is also related to the rise in estrogen at the beginning of your period.

I hope you are feeling better.

Really? I never heard of that! I 'll have to try that next month. :)

Someone told me that too much cafeine may be the problem. I'm vegan so I eat healthy in general, but I have to have my cafeine. The sad part is that when I don't have any cafeine I get a headache that makes me nauseous!

Given that endometriosis involves menstral blood travelling into the abdomen (as I understand it) surely that is the reason. What treatment are you taking for it, hormones? None?

No treatment because we have no health insurance. I just take a lot of ibuprophen (sometimes 15/day) and loritab and percosets (when I can get a hold them) during my period.

Geez...thanks for rubbing it in our faces...I get the worst periods. Birth control helps, but I still usually can't go to class or work on my first heavy day. Booo...
