inspired by a few threads in other forums... in order to have peace, whether it be peave within ourselves, or peace in a certain area, does this mean that we should just "tolerate" and understand that problems will never be fully solved? i have always been one for peace, and that sometimes means realizing what the real world is like, taking that and applying it to my daily life, and just accepting and adjusting. at least that's with inner peace... i'm starting to give up on hopes for world peace. because there are just too many groups of people out there that can't tolerate other groups of people, so there will just be constant bickering. things like world hunger, homelessness and poverty, racism, things that are huge deals in our world and things that don't look to be solved in the near future, constantly cause me to feel uneasy about the world we live in. but should i just sit back and tolerate this and know that the dollar i donate to the Salvation Army won't fully cure those things?
You would think so... but many people on this planet and forum are hypocrites I've pushed the thought away from my range of thinking... Well there's many other things you can do.... but keep donating to places like that, I do... it's much better than not doing anything
i believe there needs to be a balance between hate and love.. i would hate to live in a world where everyone was nice to each other and was.. in constant love what kind of life is that? you wouldnt even know what love is because youd never know hate
theres a saying that i really like "we must agree to disagree" not that many people would actually follow by this, but wouldnt it be great. i could sit here and tell you what i think, but im sure that you have most likely sat there yourself and thought the same things. no one is the same, therefore people will have differences, thats all there is to it. Thing is, I dont think that most people realize that by all the yelling and violent attacks and what not, doesnt solve one damn thing. Its not gonna make someone else see your point of views. hmm...quite sad isnt it?
see, the whole "live and let live" arguement is the one i like... because that pretty much sums up tolerance right there. it's like, you keep living you life, but as long as you live it as you see fit, whether you're a peaceful person or not, why try to change things that can't be changed? that's how i feel anyway.
