Once, in the 70's, while tripping on Purple Haze + Orange Sunshine, I concentrated all my attention on a long burning candle. It should have lasted for hours, but as I sat there grooving on the flame, it went solar, and melted in a matter of seconds. I made a close inspection - to be sure it wasn't just an hallucenation - but it had actually exploded. The clay ash tray had also cracked, and wax was all over the coffee table. What a trip!
I used to believe something similar - I was really into Shamanism and I believed that by focusing all your spiritual emotions on a bit of carved wood ( a talisman ) in a certain place at a certain time that you would empower it.But if any of these things are true - then what is the lsd for? OK you get a wider visual perception - but how much of what you see is your own imagination? I mean - I started to see patterns in waves and fields of grass - basically the wind - that I'd never seen before and this was 15 years ago - but even to this day - I can trigger that trip off without taking anything at all.I was an art student at the time so I was interested in the perception of things - so that instead of painting something to look like a photograph you are actually painting what you percieve. What you are talking about though is events actually being triggered through concentration.. Well I know almost for a fact that visualising something strongly and persistently can change your life unexpectedly.. But physically speaking I don't know - I had a weird experience when I was very young - I had a key for my bike on a loop of string round my belt - the bike was on the ground and I stretched the key to make it reach the lock.I was shocked when the key came off the string but it was still tied in a firm loop.Quite freaked me out actually.. like I'd performed an amazing magic trik or something..... !
Strecthing keys; exploding candles - think any of it qualifies as paranormal? Yeah, I triggered a trip once: was tripping with a girl friend, but decided to hold my hit for later and go on memory = wierd thing was: it actually worked. But later, when I took my hit, I totally bypassed the 45 minute wait: the high hit me in the side of the head like a brick.
That's pretty strange. I believe it though. Your sense of time could have been severely altered though...
paranormal is a bit of a self contradiction. if a thing happens it happens. if we don't understand how or why it does, then we don't. if we speculate, whatever we speculate, we are still speculating. chemicly impaired judgement can certainly disable subconscous blockages we didn't know we had. conceivably this could apply to untapped psionic capacities, should they happen to exist, as some very well might. this is not however a matter of creating them or giving them to us, but only of removing obsticals to them we were unawair of being present. in a sense i suppose you could say that was giving them to us, but it is only giving to us what we already have, if, that is of course, we actualy do, which is by no means certain either that we do nor that we do not. =^^= .../\...
I definitely believe that thier is something unexplainable happening with LSD. I've eaten ALOT of doses.......and I can see/do/feel things that most people can't, I anticipate things before they happen (saved a couple of vehicles from crashing already) I can read peoples emotions and feel their energy, i've always been able to do that but I can do it effortlessly now. I know it has given me the ability to think around, inside, and out of some really complex and abstract ideas..................I don't know exactly how to explain what i'm trying to get at in human language because I don't know how to put this into words, it's too complex to explain.................I believe LSD can assist one in tapping into parts of the brain that are already there but have been lying dormant for centuries. I believe it's a tool, to gain access to this. I really believe that thiers alot more to it than most people believe. I know thiers 7 plateua's of "trips" ...........if you've tripped enough you know what i'm getting at....I think each plateau opens up a different section of untapped resources in your brain. I could be a stark raving lunatic though..................
mnax splains it best for me,,,, rob ,,, i dont think the lsd is what triggered your sixth sense,,,, you could do so when not on anything as well just that when "straight" we close those same blockades mnax was speakin of once again,,, why? i dunno ,,, tis what we r taught maybe through living ,, maybe its a protection thing for self ,,, maybe its a whole lot of things that would take days to explain... personally i dont think any drug can make us anymore of what we already could be without them,,, it just allows us to be more open to them cuz after all its a drug so should be do something for us,,,,
So - strange things will surround this type of individual long before the trip? Are there tell-tale signs?
strange things always surround dilligaf.. she can be a skeary lil witch at times.. but i gotta agree with her an the mnax on this one.. an ive dosed more than youd believe.. luv n lite..
not necessarily,,, some people sure there are "strange" things long before the trip....Hell i have only tripped like 5 times in my life an i am surrounded constantly by "strange " things.... although thats neither here nor there... everyone is born with the sixth sense ,,, for whatever reasons through life we tend to lose parts or all of it,,,, some of us get it back or dont lose as much as others,,,, with some of the folks that seem to have lost it or dont believe in it just dont seem to think they have it,,,, the use of mind altering drugs tends to open that third eye or the sixth sense or whatever up.... therefore making one feel as though they have all sorta incredible powers,,, or visions or whatever.... its nothing new really its just you are able to see it n feel it more vividly, be more intune with yourself and your body n mind etc etc...,,, ,,, hell would you keep doing them if they didnt feel something from them???? tell tale signs????hmmmm mebbe.. kewl tunes btw..
i hafta admit i had to look at all three sites,, simply cuz of the intuition press and the "strange" question you had asked....
My early reading, I guess. One of my all time favorite books is "Wild Talents" by Charles Fort. One of his thoughts was that anytime something unique or strange occurred, something normal happened so that it would merge away into obscurity. A candle did something a candle does not do (I have worked with wax) and that strange occurrence merged away into a drug induced state of altered perception that any critic of the bizarre could use to explain away the phenomenon. (Big shrug)
