Does anyone else get annoyed about weed ignorance?

I'm really getting tired of these people who smoke weed because it's cool. This includes almost my entire school. They have no idea what they're putting in their bodies. One of my life long friends, truly astounded me. I asked him if he knew the strain of his bud he got earlier. He simply told me, "kind bud". My reply: "...". I explained the strains, all the while using the word cannabis thrown here and there, and he says, "dude, what the hell is cannabis?" Again, my reply was in silent disgust. I gave him my copy of the book Pot Planet by Brian Preston. He went home, read it, and now, he's educated.

Bottom Line: People don't care what goes in them, as long as it gets them high.

 

most people dont know what strain there getting...alot of people dont even know what strain they are growing. but anyway, i understand what your saying, i think its sreiously wrong when people do a drug without understanding it first. but on the other hand i also dislike people that over use the word cannabis just to sound smart. but on the other other hand i dont like alot of people, so...

Knowing the name of the strain you're smoking doesn't get you any higher.
I don't care what name someone I don't know gave to a certain strain. If it gets me where I wanna go, that's good enough for me. It doesn't matter to me if someone calls it white widow, northern lights or northern widow.

A friend gave me some seeds and said it was Nepalese hash plant.
But I didn't go to Nepal to get it and neither did he. He only knows what someone told him, who was told by someone else, etc.

Also keep in mind that for instance northern lights from one seed bank is likely not the same as northern lights from another seed bank.

i think youve all missed the point he was saying. while people dont know their strains, this person didnt know what 'strain' meant, but most importantly, of all, he didnt know what cannabis was.

the threadstarter has a very valid point, though i dont think he himself can claim to be a knowitall about cannabis.

but its true that people have no idea what cannabis even is, what it does, except that it gets you high. but most people dont know jack shit about alchohol either.

the problem is that no one knows jack shit about any drug onteh whole because for one, science barely knows much about them in teh first place, but also because its not educated to anyone since its illegal.

even people who smoke think the effects of pot come from killing brain cells, and some people who smoke pot have even said 'nah i dont want anymore, i dont wanna overdose and die man'.

but ive only heard that once from a random dude who i would not hang out with.

no one is going to know the strain they got from some high school dealer, ive heard my cousin give me all tihs bullshit about silver haze and exotic hydro, i just buy whatever the fuck that is the best that i cant get,once in a while ill know what it is because my firend will buy a like a QP stright from a grow but i cant even be sure then, there are about 120000000000000000000000022857465469 threads on this type of shit, your firend just needs to learn more, dont totaly call him a ignarant basterd when you mention shit he doesnt know TELL HIM, and reading one book doesnt make you a know it all ive never read a book on pot but i know more about it then anyone i know, so how about aproching this whole idea was ignorant and saying that your firend was ignorant, and that by reading one book by one guy(there is ALOT of info out there one opinon doesnt mean shit)why get worked up and pissed just explane it

yeh but he didnt know what cannabis is, but hes smoking it. if it was just something about strains then its different but its the NAME, and its not a nickname, its the ACTUAL name thats teh same worldwide.

i didnt know that shit when i was young but i knew it years before i knew anyone who smoked! im not showing off, i just personally cant see how someone who actually smokes it doesnt know what cannabis is

You can get high without knowing the definatition of the word "cannabis".
When I first started smoking pot ('67), I didn't know another name for pot was cannibus.
You don't need to know the medical term vagina is another word for pussy to enjoy fucking.

 

It pisses me off when people are like, "John, why do you even know that much?" or, "Only you would know that." like...they mean it in a friendly way...but it just disgusts me how they don't want to learn about it...if more people were educated about it, there'd be a lot better chance of reform...or at least more tolerance

I just mean really broad things, like how my friends believed that weed now is like 200 times more potent than it was in the 70s...at most it's like double or something

All I expect is them to know, dro, mids, regs, and some basic information...nothing too detailed...but it's always fun to know

 

Maybe I went a bit overboard with sounding like a connesuer*, but still, he had no fucking clue what cannabis was. He's a guy who will take ANYTHING to get high. And maybe I'm a bit of a spoiled smoker, my dealer gorws his own stuff, and buys seeds online, so he always knows what he's selling.

i know what you mean at school today some kid was telling everyone that he took some pills that his firend "made" and he was tripping balls and people where like trying to scare him by like waving there hands infront of his face, the kid was not tripping ive seen people tripping ive triped we wasnt on anything that hard maybe a couple mgs of hydrocodone or a couple adderall wow how hardcore is that !!! i was about to fucking punch that kid and everyone that talked to him and thought it was "cool" or "funny", he had no idea what he took or how many and "acted" like he was on alest 5 different drugs from just one, i know no pharm that makes you trip like he said he was tripping
