how cum cocaine is ilegal and we all no the dangers of that durg yet when a child is said to have adhd they perscribe drugs for them that are just the same and the doctors push them on them. i think this is wierd cus there is no proof that adhd exists let alone what continues use of these drug are going to do to them when they are older. are we going to see side affects when these children are in there 20's 30's and long term use of cocaine dumbs the brain are the goverment or someone esle tryin to keep the next generation as dunb as us . we have all heard the stories whats going on?

I don't know. When I was a kid, nobody had ADHD or took drugs for it. Kids acted up and adults dealt with it, without drugging them. It really seems crazy that parents are willing to go along with this. The schools really pressure them, threatening to kick the kids to special ed if they don't get them drugged. Nuts.

I see kids at the bus stops at 7am eating Fritos, candy bars, soda pop, and everything else with sugar and junk in it. I see all the garbage that they throw on the ground and what they've been eating. They're all hyped up on sugar. Change to a better diet and they would be able to relax and concentrate much better at school.

I agree with most of the posters, it is crazy, i actually watched a doco about this last night and it is so fucking stupid. "oh he has temper tantrums" so lets give him drugs that will "cause excessive eating, drooling and nervous ticks". Lazy parents just can't be bothered raising their children and the pharm companies make a pretty penny, the only real loser in this deal is the child.

i couldnt agree more, 3 good meals a day, exercise, and a strong family could not be a more perfect combination for healthy kids. I think if kids have a purpose (like small responsibilities) and are treated on an equal level to everyone else then they have a good base to start on as a healthy person

    Pharmaceutical industry scam.
They get the kids on these drugs early on make them believe they need them for the rest of there life and they have a life long customer that will spend hundreds of dollars a month because “they have too to be normal”.

This shit make me so mad those ADD drugs are just a form of amphetamine that’s gotta be real healthy daily amphetamine all your life. And the psyc drugs they just unplug part of your brain and take away your emotions just a chemical lobotomy very twisted.

The problem with 90% of these kids is probably sugar all day and no outdoor activity, a lot of them just sit in school all day come home and play violent video games and watch violence on T.V. with mass amounts of refined sugar.

I agree with the above posts if they would eat healthy and get out and get exercise it probably would solve most of their “behavioral problems”.

But bottom line the pharmaceutical industry is making billions of dollars off of medicating these kids.

My three year old got diagnosed with adhd. Personally, I think he's just being a three year old. I don't medicate him, I just drink a lot of coffee and deal with it.

Yay for you, amanda! The pharma companies don't make any $ off a diagnoses of "being a 3 yo"-lol. My grandson was a major handful at that age. He's 15 now and a great, totally mellow, healthy kid. He was never medicated.

    Keep up the good work.

They were promoting anti-depressants for dogs for a while in the U.S. It seems they stopped running the commercials after 9/11 when the economy slumped.

I love my ritalin. Shit, I'd be a basket case without it. No way I'd be able to get through university without it.

i was diagnosed add/adhd and put on concerta. i was basically a guinea pig and ended up becoming anorexic, getting 4 hours of sleep a night, and developed a strange case of kleptomania. not to mention i was extremely depressed. i quit taking concerta/ritalin after i got arrested for shoplifting with a friend. good times! anyway, i'm against all that shit of course. yerba matte is really all you need. it amazes me they can prescribe this shit for 3 yo's when they don't even know how adults turn out who have been taking it all their lives. the majority of people i know who have grown out of adolescence taking it daily are absolute drones. and many people with "untreated" add grow up to be artists and philosophers. go figure...
i like the concept of the indigo children generation

I also got diagnosed for add and got stuck with concerta for 2-3 years, i became extremely associal, didn't talk to my friends anymore, lost every of my social contacts.. got stuck with a heavy and tense depression for 2 weeks, suicidal thougts and all the stuff that comes with depressions.. and that is were i decided to stop with all medical stuff i was taking at that moment , including anti-depression meds.
And then in the sudden i became a whole new person, as if my conscioness got freed from some kind of brain prison, relatine and concerta are very evil.. never seen any person gotten better from it :/
Ofcourse my school results were way better when i took concerta.. but i mean.. are good prestations really everything?
