i swear, this is all natural. i washed my hair this morning, let it dry, and for some reason it did this. i have noticed for about the last month it does this whenever wet, and doesn't really ever straighten out to normal no matter HOW MUCH i palm roll it. personally, i think they are amazing and unique, but i'm curious to know if anyone else has super kinky dreads...
hmm not really but i like that \ well cqant say they do that exactly but they do all sorts of ccrazy things, but never really ever tried palm rollin so whatever they do was done a long time ago & cant be undone point is like em like that so let em do what they wanna do cause they look pretty damn cool
well thanks! that means a lot. i love them, i think they are so funny. they are definitely not able to be reversed, so i guess it's good i like them!
they are brown all over except my bangs (which are undreaded) and the left side of my head and to the back underneath are purple they were blue for the longest time. you can see them blue here: www.knottyrye.blogspot.com
Just to confirm whether I understood you correctly: Are you asking whether other people’s dread-locks turn into spirals like yours? My dread-locks do start zigzagging at times. Therefore I can see that my hair has grown longer. However the growth of my hair isn’t obvious when the dreads are twisted into spirals. What I do in that case is pull them strait. I pull them strait after showering. When my hair is wet and soft then it is easier to pull strait. My hair is more flexible and less rigid when it is wet. When my dreads are dry then they are inflexible, rigid, yet neat. So I pull my hair strait when they are wet. The dreads extend a great deal in length. Then I say “Wow! These dreads are growing fast. The time is not far away when they are going to be reaching my waist. That way my dreads will look really nice”
mine drag on the ground all around... i just noticed hat yasee in my sig where that 1 dread splits near ear level? that splits now at nipple level so theyre like a foot longer since that was taken srry random..but raks post just made me noticethat..lol
lol. yeah, that's what i was asking! i guess i could pull them straight...but i kind of like them kinky
I really like that zig zag! it is like a little lightning bolt! Also your dreads arelooking amazing! i'll grab my camera later today and get pics of some of my crazy dreads for you because i definitely have some that are crazy!
before I had to cut mine, almost all mine in the back did the exact same thing. I think it's really cool.
i have a dread in the back that's doing that. i've noticed my hair is starting to get really curly from dreading. mine are a lot thinner than yours, rye, but they kind of look similar. that one zig zag one is aaaaawesome!
my hair is doing the same thing...i just decided to let them grow that way..no matter how much i try to pull them straight or any of that...that just what it wants. i think it has something to do with having wavy hair....my brother has prefectly straight hair and is not havin any thing like that.
I get that too, I do!! 'Cept mine does calm down and straighten out a bit after a week or two. But, right after washing and for approximately the week following, they are curly and kinky like that. I had naturally curly hair, probably why.
A few of mine have a couple of kinks in them but I have one that kinks all the way down, I named him Wiggly I don't bother trying to palm roll them flat, they're unique and beautiful as they are. I have naturally straight hair though, so no idea what made them kink. Your dreads are beautiful
OK, I admit I am totally ignorant about dreads! They are way cool, but I never realized they had to be cultivated or whatever! What do you have to do to make dreads?? I'm really curious about the whole process! Please forgive this old ladies ignorance! lol
nope, they aren't felted! i'm glad i have some other kinky brothers and sisters out there, lol. i love love love them! let me see pictures of your kinks! i have naturally wavy hair, i think that has something to do with them. i did notice they calm down after a week or so too, but as soon as they are wet they just zigzag back up
