I'm thinking of moving to Russia. Maybe part of the year, something like that.

I don't really get "jealous" of other places. Britain can be a bit draining in the deep Winter with rain and poor light tho.

There are places that I wish I was able to visit and when I see those spoken about I do have a ping of regret to I will not be able to. I had some destinations on my list but those are not probable now due to limitations of travel. Thankfully in the big scheme of things, I can live with that. :)

There is no other place though that I have wished to live other than where I do, so that is a good thing. :)

I do want to see the pyramids but I'm a little scared of the country. =p
Same with Troy. I just don't see myself in Turkey for any other reason so it won't happen I don't think.

I don't really travel to popular sites when I travel. I find the coolest little things and then set out to find them. Like rune stones in Scandinavia. To hell with the big cities, I'm going out into wilderness for a walk to find something historical.
I spent over a week once in Carpathian forest searching for a mythical cave on horseback while I was meant to be spending a week in Kraków.
I never found it but I'd love to have another look. That's what I do when I travel. I only pick places with historical value to begin with.

What kind of dump, what kind of shithole would someone live in to think Russia was some kind of upgrade? Sheesh.

The only place I might consider visiting would be Tunguska in North Central Siberia the site of an asteroid impact on June 30, 1908 :2thumbsup:

It depends what you like in a country. Russia has lots of beautiful nature. I think I could spend a year in Siberia (would probably like to get out of nature before winter) alone!

I'm not really a jealous person, except a little when I see cool chicks with jerks, but I really don't like where I live very much.My building is good, nice flat, and there is a nice town up the road, but my immediate environment is a little miserable.Sorry to be a downer. But goddamn,I fucking hate it here!!! LOL!!!

Yeah, there is that, Irm....disappearing coastlines, ....sadly.....and I know I am aware of that and have been.....but I do miss the ocean....at least I can visit the beach. Is there a beach near you?

No, not at all. I am very south Germany. The beaches are along the north east and west and the channel that filters into Denmark. We do have some nice beaches.
I know the small tropical islands claim to have disappearing coastlines but you don't really hear about it much on mainland beaches, at least I haven't.

We have some benches in the park in town.In fact we actually do have a lovely park up the road, about a mile away.I keep meaning to go for walks there more often,to get it into my routine. There is a duck pond/nature trail kind of thing there.

I live about a 3 hour drive from the beach but I figure if I live here long enough it might turn into an hour drive :sunny: so there's always that, thanks global warming

Not jealous, but do love the look of the mountain pics some post. Even the city that Ace posts because where I am, after a certain time everything shuts down. On a Saturday I'd have to travel (only by car, no public transport will be running, besides a taxi) to the next town for cigs after 10pm! But I do live 20 mins from a beach, and there are woodland walks and caves and castles to explore all within an hours distance so can't complain...just a bit wet and windy!

Are you in a city or in a village, katkin? That's not so bad/uncommon for a village (it would just mean you need to get your cigs before 10 pm)!
