I'm talking about Christianity, I'm talking about admiring Jesus for his words and actions. Whether you're atheist,Islamic,Christian etc. Do you dig Jesus and why?

The message of Jesus is about God loving us and us spreading love around to each other. Even our worst enemies. And about selflessness, service, and humility. And forgiveness. And treating other people the way that you would want them to treat you. And Jesus practiced what he preached and led by example. Simple, yet profound truths. How can you not dig that?

Yet, Christianity has got a bad name in many cases because people DON'T practice those things, and instead try to institutionalize the message and water it down. If Christians really practiced those basic principles, we could have probably converted the whole planet a long time ago.

I think Jesus was probably a very nice guy, but the mythology around him is a joke IMO. Yes, he was probably a good healer and a selfless guy, but so are many other people. I don't see why he's worth worshiping, todays red cross and UN have done much more than Jesus ever could.

So, you're telling me that the Red Cross and U.N. have done more than organizations inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ? Think about what you're saying here.

    Hogwash.
For 1500 years Catholic hospitals staffed by nursing sisters and brothers had a vast hospital network that until recent years never charged its patients a nickel and did so out of Christ's command to tend the sick. Even during the crusades, nursing brothers treated Muslim patients in the Holy Land for free.

The Western world owes the existence of its civilization, including its educational system, to Christianity, whether you like it or not. It's just a fact.

i agree charise. lol, but the "medical practices" of the west, and the "education" weren't exactly top notch until very recently, unlike in much of the rest of the world. but yeah, jesus was a great guy. whether you like christianity or not, he definatley preached a good message. my favorite message of his was "he who is without sin, cast the first stone" maybe that's not exactly how it went, but, what a great message. no one on earth (or outside of it) has any right to judge anyone else. more people really need to take that lesson to heart.

personaly i don't feel qualified to judge someone i've never personaly met and about whome all i've ever heard sounds very much like rather extravigant exaggerations.

i do rather suspect most of today's so called christians would be rather shocked and put off their feed if they ever did meet him. but that's just a wild supposition of a guess too.

Huh! UN! Hypocrisy / not neutral and unjust (as it seems in some cases)
    Jesus (pbuh) isn't
    [IMG]
''burning a coffin symbolising the death of U.N''
UN is dead to many ppl, Jesus is alive, His message as well is still alive and inspires Thousands of ppl, I think UN is weak, helpless and powerless in so many cases!! I think they sometimes afraid ; ) but Jesus (pbuh) speaks the truth and doesn't care, some do help ppl not for a mere help:rolleyes: they have

goals, propagandas, interests, plans bla bla bla but Jesus has LOVE AND CARE

well, maybe you need to dig more, keep digging, dig Jesus, I think its wrong and unjust to compare his ''pure'' love, help and care with UN or any other

    Organisation
and ponder this, (I wanted to say the same thing):

    *Peace and love*
    Yours Sincerely,
    Cat Stevens

... except for the minor detail that neither the Red Cross nor the UN have died for the sins of the world.

It seams to me that Jesus, if he ever did exist, was nothing more than one of the worlds first communists who's teachings were hijacked after his death by a few religious biggots and leaders.

Except or the fact that Jesus' teachings are ar from anything religious leaders taught at the time, and the only one in the sprouting days of the church who was highly schooled was Paul...

Jesus... jesus... who the hell is that again...
Oh yeahhh that dude from the bible.

He deffinatly is a proper laugh!
    (Or was I should say)

Funny how someone dies and resurrects again,
strange that, a few hundred years later, people got burned for "resurecting" (all bullshit, they never really died but felt like getting rid of someone).
If you were tagged like that, you was doing deals with Lucifer,
funny, I guess jesus did the same then if he got back to life again.

I was in a town here nearby, and these guys came to use to talk about jesus love for the world, and so on, and on, blablabla,
and then he said that jesus died for our sins?
Well if he did that, then that will also be his perdition.

I have absolute Love and respect for the man. I am quite sure that if he were among us today, incarnate, he would probably be saddened (frustrated? outraged?) by the ways humanity continues to misunderstand what he offered and distort his meaning. I think he was completely devoted to enlightening and inspiring everyone to simply try to live more conscious, harmonious and meaningful lives.

He was a good man. I am hopeful and willing to imagine that he would continue to be completely devoted to his vision.

Whether humanity will ever realize his vision, Who knows? I appreciate his accomplishment.

    Peace and Love
