that's what Iran's President is asking at a conference today with an audience of over 6 million muslims and leaders from over 13 countries discussing the issue of the holocaust being a myth. WTF does he hope to gain out of this?? Popularity? Power? fucking religious countries are tryin to take everyone back to the middle ages, and this is another leader that should be assassinated.
You never know really. I mean we learn everything we know from history books and old video but couldn't all of that have been fabricated in one huge lie? It could very well happen but yes it is unlikely.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16149717/from/RS.5/ I don't think this conference is straight up Holocaust denial(although the attendee list certainly would indicate so). Of course, that's like saying that a Klan meeting isn't about straight up racism, there's some talk of "heritage" also....
Well they barred a Palestinian scholar who believes the holocaust happened, so gosh maybe it really it a deliberate attempt to deny the holocaust.
I believe it happened...that is just the end result of a country that becomes too big and lazy to keep their government in check, should you have the freedome to question it or even deny it happened if you want to? Yes, I hope you remember the saying of "I disagree with what you say but i'll fight till the death for your right to say it"...don't start being a 1st amendment hater just because you don't agree with what someone says. And who's to blame them for quesitoning the holocaust? Did you grow up in a village that got bombed and pillaged by israeli military forces? Did you grow up with your familiy being pushed off their land for Israel because of this Holocaust? Think about things in perspective and don't be so angry. Just because Iran may be questioning the official story of the holocaust doesn't mean the world is going to end like fox news says.
Plenty of diferent massacres happened at diferent times and places. What is so hard to belive about The Holocast?
Bustramp...was that comment directed towards me? I said I believe without a doubt the holocaust happened, all I was saying was it's not the end of the world for someone to question the official version or what really happened, that's what us adults like to call "freedom of speech", you might wanna use it sometime it's great, but it only exists as long as we let everyone, even people we don't agree with, use it too. What isn't questionable is that Israel uses the holocaust as an excuse for horrific war crimes against the palestinean people, so for them to question it isn't some ridiculous conspiracy or anti-semetic rant.
The Holocaust isn't just something we read about in history books. There are plenty of people that are still alive today that are concentration camp survivors, soldiers that liberated the camps and saw the horrors firsthand, etc.. The problem is that even though there is overwhelming evidence that the Holocaust occurred, the people that don't want to believe that it did aren't going to believe it, no matter what. And I also completely agree that the horrors of the Holocaust don't justify Israel running roughshod over everybody in the Middle East. It's the kind of behaviour that Israel engages in that makes people go to an opposite extreme and deny that the Holocaust happened. Historically, one set of injustices leads to unjust reactions, and the whole cycle of extreme reactions against injustices keeps being perpetuated.
Oh boy, here we go! The poor peace loving Palestinian suicidal bomber terrorists! They won't stop till all the Israelis are dead and Jerusalem is their capital! And that's a quote! I guess the Israelis are the aggressor huh? Bustramp
I've met old people in my travels that had the crude tattoos on ,I believe, their left arms where the germans put them.
I totally agree. And today the US is following Israel's example. In fact we sit back and watch as Israel does a landgrab in Lebanon, then we wonder why the world resents us. Israel and the US need more people like Begin that lived through the Holocaust, but still believed that the Palestians had a legimate rights and worked towards a peaceful resolution in the Middle East. You can't make boogeymen out of your enemies, and ever hope to peacefully resolve your problems.
A landgrab? Hibollah attacked Israel. And they still haven't released the soldiers they grabbed. Why doesn't Israel have the right to respond when it is attacked by other countries?
In The Mid East there is plenty of room for both sides to row back. When each side compromises then peace is possible.
Israel did compromise. They ended their occupation of Lebanon. In response, Hizbollah acquired thousands of rockets from their Holocaust denying friends in Tehran and then attacked Israel.
