i got caught up on another forum about a weed debate, whether it's good or bad. i need some points that i can use. anyone got any?
sure i've got points. for both sides. though neither is unbiased. nothing unbiased will support either side, and nothing unbiased will be a good argument for one side or the other as a result
btw does anyone have the link to webmd where it says that weed prevents lung cancer. i used that as one of my arguments, but i need sources.

these guys are really annoying me. here's what some of them said: that was after i tried explaining weed is safe.
I love that stat so much, especially comparing the alchol to the weed. I always bring it up when people say weeed is bad.
yeah that's definatly one i'll use later on in the debate if they start talking about weed killing people.
dude dont even argue with them, theyre retards. U wont learn much from them just typical ignorant views
There's no point to argue about them. You claim that marijuana is safe (can't be proven 100% no matter what) and they say doing drugs is like pedophiles. Obviously nothing is gonna come outta that debate. I'd just give them the facts and leave.
Ya don't even bother. What I have learned is that they have brainwashed people for so long into believing marijuana is the devil that they have become religious fanatics about it and actually link it to the devil. Eventually science and research will come together and the scientists will be like WOAH WTF! and everyone will legalize except the states, who will be slow as always and maybe catch up after a major revolution.
The UK and Eire are poisoning ourselves every weekend binge drinking. Binge drinking is part of our culture now and is completely legal. There are 120 000 deaths from alcohol per year in the UK alone. The reason this is such a problem is that for e.g At 12 or 13 years old i was too young to go out on the town and to old to play with my teenage mutant ninja turtles. I along with everyone else in my year started buying cheap £1 bottles of cider and going out around the sea front and streets causing mayhem! I know i was a yob but thats what happens to hormonal teen lads drinking cheep gut rot. By the time i was 18 (the legal age to start drinking) me and my mates were on the verge of alcoholism and self destruction. We were involved in a few bust up's with the other local hooligans and there was an attempted murder case. After this i started to smoke loads more ganj and reallised i needed to move. Im not joking when i say this but MJ saved me in a way, coz while i was laying there stoned id have proper "enlightenings" (sounds corny i know) about what i needed to do with my life. I still drink a lot when i go to the bar but not 6 nights a week any more, just one or two. Any way im starting to waffle on but thats my argument over why marijuana should be legalised.
no what i said was that weed is the safest drug, not that it is safe alone. i've been comparing it to alcohol and hard drugs, and saying that it is much safer to smoke weed than drink
Just remember, I don't think anyone has ever changed their mind about something like that because of a forum argument with some random guy. He's one of those guys who seriously hates weed and puts it in the same box with hard drugs, mainly because he's just misinformed and well, stupid, but his ego just wouldn't let him change his mind about something like this so he keeps pulling out those 'reasons' and fortunately for him it's easy since weed is illegal and well someone has to do some serious anti-propaganda to make it illegal. "It's scientifically proven, that..." is used so fucking much today, who the hell proves YOU that this shit even ever took place and that the people knew what they were doing and that they didn't fuck something up and that they didn't lie (it's no surprise that the gov would make people do that) and so on. "The blind lead the blind." I have a super long report on cannabis that shows how many different ways weed can be used in medicine. The list with explanations and the scientific info was so long that it just blew my mind + it has shit loads of info about using it, how it works (the exact chemistry shit and so on) and a bunch of other info. For an example I never knew that fricken HIV patients get their asses saved by the munchies all over the world, meaning that they normally loose shit loads of weight and have no appetite which will make the chances of not making it ALOT higher while the lovely herb makes them enjoy theirselves and eat a lot (gain weight). Just one example without the scientific crap out of probably hundreds. Unfortunately the report is in estonian, I doubt anyone here could understand shit.
Arguing with someone who thinks pot is wrong is like telling a Christian that their religion is false and based only upon magical happenings and impossible events. If you ask someone why they think pot is bad, they'll usually say something like "It just is" or "it's a gateway drug" without ever actually reading this from a source other then fox news. Other people will bring up the argument that it was made illegal because it was dangerous, which if they had done any actual research they would have found out that people just thought it made adolescent white girls have sex with black jazz musicians (we all know that jazz is devil music).
Wait why are you arguing? Like others have said, theres no point. Clearly these people are very ill-informed... Let them think what they will.
i'm arguing cause they think i fucked up my life. i'm not trying to get them to change their mind about pot, but now they think i'm a pothead that just gets stoned all the time.
