PS: if you don't know what i'm talking about then there is no need to post that you don't know.. so stfu ty
if you call linksys they will help you set everything up. My friend did it when he got his xbox 360, they told him all the ports he needed to open.
Except I don't think Linksys will help Joker set up an alternate firmware. I have never installed DD-WRT, except for a small, free FON router to put in repeater mode for my xbox360. I remember having to connect the router to my computer and telnet into it right after I power cycled it. It was complicated stuff.
DD-wrt is simple to install, I had it installed a year or so ago on my old router. Make sure you do a hard reset before uploading the firmware.
ok.. i have a WRT54GS.. which files do i need off of the dd-wrt website? yea.. i'm not installing linksys firmware.. im trying to install firmware that will speed up and range my WAN better
Go here http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv3/dd-wrt/downloads.html and scroll down till it gets to your model number (WRT54GS), on the bottom of your router it should give you a version number; so choose the right version. From there choose the VXWorks Killer files. From what I have read, only DD-WRT mini will work with the WRT54G(S) Here's a great guide for the v.5, 5.1, and 6 releases.
Why is this in the stoner's lounge? Are you trying to do this while your stoned? Maybe thats your problem.
Shit, it didn't copy over the whole link for the download. Just in case: http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/stable/dd-wrt.v24 SP1/Consumer/Linksys edit: still won't work... So choose Stable > dd-wrt.v24 SP1 > Consumer > Linksys
