I fuckin love them. I like their acoustic stuff better than electric, but it's all good. my favorite songs are "Find the cost of Freedom", "Woodstock", "Wooden SHips" (though I don't know if that was originally by them or Jefferson Airplane, who I dig too), "Ohio", and "CHicago", and "SOuthern Man" as far as old tunes go. aS FAR AS NEW TUNES, I like "Southern Cross", "Winchester Cathedral" if that's what its called, and "Turn your back on Love". I really like their anti-war and pro-freedom message. Can anyone suggest to me some good Steven Stills solo stuff? I've heard a few Neil Young solo songs, and they don't impress me that much. I think his new album (whatever it's called, sucks, but I still feel bad about what happened to him), and "Mirror Ball" has a few aight tunes on it, but for the most part sucks. the song Harvest Moon is okay, and "Keep On ROckin in The Free World" is great. "Southern Man" is actually by Neil Young And Neil Young is actually very good, and his new album is Prairie Wind, which isn't very good, I must admit.

And "Woodstock" is a Joni Mitchell song, but their version bests hers. My Favorite song by them is "Shadow Captain" from their 3rd album titled CSN. It's a song that continues in the vein of "Wooden Ships", and has an indelible piano riff that just makes the song.
And to answer the above question, Crosby did go solo. His first solo album "If Only I Could Remember My Name..." was made with the same people that made Paul Kantner and Grace Slick's "Blows Against The Empire". Namely, (beside the afformentioned Kantner and Slick) Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, Graham Nash, Mickey Hart, Jack Casady, Joey Covington, Peter Kaukonen (Jorma's brother, who's also a guitar player), etc.
And recently you may have heared Crosby and Nash contributing backing vocals to David Gilmour's "On An Island".

I'm afraid I can't help here, but I would like to mention that two of my favourite songs of all time are CSN songs- "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" and "49 Bye-Byes". Yum.
As a previous poster earlier said David Crosby did go solo. He put out 7 solo albums from 1971-2002, with his 1st, "If I Could Only Remember My Name", my favorite. He also put out 9 albums with Graham Nash from 1972-2004. My favorite albums by this duo are "Graham Nash - David Crosby" 1972 and "Wind On The Water" 1975. Saw them live in Amsterdam twice last year. David Crosby also was in the group CPR - Crosby, Pevar, Raymond who put out 4 albums 1998-2001. Saw them 5 years ago. And of course he was in Crosby, Stills & Nash who have put out 6 albums. Have seen them many times over the years including last year in Amsterdam. Saw Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young 3 times in the 70's. The first time was about one month after Kent State killings and they played Ohio. Made quite an impression on this 9th grader. Hope they play near me this year. The albums "Deja Vu" and "Crosby, Stills & Nash" are my all time favorite albums ever. I just got back from their concert. Best day of my life. They were amazing... great electric, and great acoustic. I really enjoyed Almost Cut my Hair and Ohio.
