Ok so here's my story. This past Saturday (it is now Tuesday), me and my boyfriend went to a hottub party. He was pretty drunk, I was just buzzin. We chilled in the hottub then after a couple hours we all were either passed out or sleeping...obvioulsy not in the hottub but u no.....it was around like 2 or so in the morning and my bf woke up from being passed out and we had sex without a condom. Im not for sure if he blew in me or not cuz I was still buzzin, but during the sex I got my period. What are the chances that I could be pregnant????? PLEASE HELP because we're both freaking out over here and it's relaly hitting us hard.
Megan - Ther is absolutely NO chance that you will get pregnant if you began your period while you were having unprotected sex with your boyfriend as you described it. You only get pregnant when you ovulate, and that happens at exactly the opposite time of month from when you have your period. This if your period happens from March 1-5, your ovulation occurs about March 15-20 or so. But bring a condom or two with you in your purse next time.
actually there is a VERY VERY slim chance you may be pregnant...while you are more likely to get pregnant when you ovulate it is possible to get pregnant at any time of the month
you can pregnant at anytime! don't let these guys tell you otherwise. that's just old-fashioned husband tales. invest in a pregnancy test, for starters.
I never saw any medical studies that a woman can get pregnant having unprotected sex during her period (when she is actually bleeding). Do you know anyone who has?
Megan: Keep your cool. If your right about your period and you tend to be regular . Your not PG. "You can pregnant at anytime", god dont they teach English or sex education anymore ? As Cutted said and he's right on the money.Your ovulation cycle is when your ovaries give up an egg (ovum), this occurs once during your monthly cycle. Ovulation happens approx. 15 days from the first day of menses, give or a take a couple of days. As Cutted said keep some condoms in your purse. Actually you're all right. The ovulation information is correct AND you can get pregnant when you have your period because your eggs could still be planted in the uterus. Your period "washes" them out. How do I know this? I'm extremely regular like a clock and got pregnant after having sex during the middle of my period when I thought I was safe. Another thing is sperm can remain active in your body for 72 hours, camping out in the vagina, cervix and uterus. They are like heat seeking missiles! Did you know this? I sure didn't before it happened to me. Be careful at all times is my advice. Keep some day after pills handy just in case, you can get them over the counter now I think. Anything is possible. You cannot get pregnant any time.... There are only two or three days in the month when you can get pregnant, that is when you ovulate....roughly 14 days after the first day of your period.... I am a little surprised in this day and age people dont know this????
Well hmmm that's news to me since I did get pregnant right smack dab in the middle of my period, bloody bleeding and all. And I know of two other women this happened to as well. One of which is my sister who just gave birth last year. The reason I know I got pregnant from this encounter is because I was celibate for a year prior -- I wasn't involved nor having sex with anyone. It was a one shot deal with one guy. And surprise, surprise when it was time for my next period to roll around, nada. When I questioned my OB Gyn she told me that yes you can because like the rest of you who claim you cannot I thought it would be impossible. It was explained to me if your ovulated eggs are still hanging around in your uterus you can. I also learned about the 72 hour sperm survival after ejaculation from her. As I'm clairvoyant I personally believe if the spirit you're in agreement with is ready for you to be it's dear momma and everything is lined up, hmmm well, spirit is much stronger than anything physical and miracles can and do happen. Even though it's not the norm perhaps, women have been known to get pregnant in the most inexplicable of circumstances. Even women who are no longer "reproductive" according to western medical science. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind who thinks or feels otherwise, I just was sharing what happened with personally and actually I was simply answering the woman's question above. She should get tested just in case as intuition is more telling than anything else.
There is still a chance of getting pregnant while on your period, every woman is different, some can and some cant.
I wouldn't worry about it. If you get knocked up, go up to PP and get some abortion pills. A few hours and some bloody chunks later, you're good as new.
I know I ovulate a couple days after my period, so if your cycle is off like mine it could be possible, but probably pretty unlikely. When you're done with this scare it might be nice to take the time to learn when you personally are ovulating. I swear they teach nothing in America anymore but "take you pill and love your god" blah.
it is possible. normally a girl only shoots out one egg at a time, out of one ovary, but is is possible but rare for both ovaries to shoot during the same month, same day, days apart . . . . highly unlikely that you got preggers though, better luck next time.
