I'm stunned by some of the stuff on this forum. This is directed at those of you who make a sport out of scamming doctors for opiates for recreational use, posting here asking what's the best lie to tell or condition to fake, sharing systems of how to work every ER in a 50 mile radius to avoid getting noticed. I actually need pain killers for actual pain. For most of my life I have had an incurable auto-immune disease. This means missing work often to see doctors, have tests, treatments, side effects, tens of thousands spent out of pocket, hospital stays, infusions, transfusions and worst of all, nagging pain every day that OTC analgesics can't even touch. I've also had a handful of orthopedic injuries from sports, a few kidney stones and at least 6 root canals (everyone thinks a root canal hurts the most during and after... I wish). So I'm pretty familiar with pain, pain control, and doctors. The disease is the main thing. I see a pain control specialist every month for narcotic pain killers because my regular doctor is reluctant to prescribe them. Some of you are no doubt thinking, "wow, this guy's got a sweet hookup." Wrong. There's no euphoria- I get tired of the dulling effects and wish that OTC stuff would work. If I am lucky, I have enough medication to push the pain down to a level where I can think about other things. There's nothing fun about this. Every month I worry that the specialist is going to reduce the dose or cut me off at which point my only option will be having organs removed. There is always the dread of coming across a doctor who won't treat severe pain adequately (or a dentist or surgeon who causes it first!). The worst ones make up B.S. excuses- they didn't get the message, they didn't get the fax, the pharmacy at the fax machine must be broken, etc. My regular doctor is now out of this loop yet still implies that I am taking narcotics when I don't need them. I'm afraid of the doctors who might think I am you- the recreational opiate user. That's when I'm really screwed and have to face some really dreadful life altering options. It's because of people like you that people like us are regarded with such suspicion and scrutiny. "Does he really need pain killers? He doesn't LOOK like he's in pain. Why is he freaking out right before a long trip out of town? Is he nervous because he's lying or because he's desperate? He's either afraid of being in pain for 2 weeks, or he's a recreational user or an addict. Maybe he's selling them for $10 each!" I'm sure its hard for a doctor to tell, because all of those things really happen. Thanks so much to the recreational opiate community. I wish you could live my life for one month and see what real pain and real desperation feels like. To those of you talking about getting in line at the emergency room so you can lay some story on the doctors to get some "80s"... I hope it backfires and Andre the Giant gives you a proctological exam with his thumb. People who really need care are waiting for you and your charade. Please realize the consequences your behavior has on the rest of us. I mentioned dentists, that's what led me here today. In their own way, they are the worst. Every time a dentist works on a tooth, within 2 weeks the pulp has become so inflamed that the whole side of my head hurts. I must convince them to schedule a root canal. The endodontist looking inside the tooth always says, "Wow, yeah, that's messed up. I bet that hurt." There's just something different about dentists. Has anyone else noticed this? They are much more cautious, stingy and conservative about treating what can be pretty horrible pain. Are they held to a different set of rules than M.D.s? Are they reviewed by different people or agencies? Do they get scammed for opiates more than others? That one is kind of hard to believe because you'd have to sit there getting your teeth drilled for a couple of hours to justify it. Or in my case, getting my eighth $1,200 root canal. It just doesn't make sense that I'm there and spending the money for any other reason than some serious pain that isn't going away, and yet they won't even prescribe a low to medium powered pain killer.
Sorry to hear about your... life. Chastising the people who con doctors for opiates is really narrow minded. Your bitching would be somewhat valid had you taken the time to call out people who steal already prescribed meds, or people who commit crimes against there fellow man on a daily basis to score. Sadly all you did was poke at the "con artists", since your elementary post has exercised your ignorance I will now depart from this thread. BTW, finna blow some dilly and eat some xanax. Neither of which I have a script for. :cheers2:
If you were legitimately in pain you would be able to find a doctor who would prescribe you what you need. Don't bitch at us because the doctors in your area are doing their job. trichome ps: about to sniff my 3rd OC 40 today mawfucka....
Does2, For record I also have a low opinion of those whole steal any property from others for any reason. However, your failure to include anything about the U.S.S. Lynx's European WWI campaign beginning in 1917 kind of invalidates your whole post and demonstrates your pettiness. Other than that, what are you even saying? I've exercised my ignorance? Please enlighten me. I'm not going to read 5,800 posts to figure out your whole philosophy. If you won't support your statements I win. If you are hinting at legalization and the double standard with alcohol and nicotine I agree with you, it should all be legalized. Problem solved. If there must be public entitlements, people who misuse any of the above should be ineligible. Private companies should be able to test for anything if they want.
Trichome22, There's no way I can convince you I am legitimately in pain. If you will accept the premise we can have a discussion. Also, did you mean to say "the doctors in your area are not doing their job."?
so ur hating on the govt because u think it should be legal but ur still mad at people who are taking advantage of the system in order to get the shit that you think should be legal? and on top of that ur hating on does2 you my friend are a full blown hater i love doing drugs and i love that they are illegal so i win not you also u dont have to con doctors we just fuck with fake scripts and prepaid ghost numbers ur gonna have to be creative to hate on me
This will be an awesome thread, I promise. Support my statements? I thought someone with a "legitimate" reason to obtain opiates legally would really know the pitfalls involved. 12 hours without a dose, I'd bet my life you'd blow the first pharmacist with some Dilaudid. Not to mention the pain. Or the addiction. Or the w/d's. Sorry we came and perverted your game, but I don't think all of the opiates in the world were intended for faggots. I'm not even going to google your "facts". I see no room for that discussion. You came her pissed at people who can attain pills easier than you... and don't even need them. lrn2pain, it should be easy. Go complain to your doctor, you might get some Midol.
Largeamount, You are right. It's a contradiction from many perspectives, so it is a fair point. All I can say is that I value honesty and I have a law and order type of perspective. Ideally, I would prefer legality so no one had to deceive to get what they want. Since that's not currently possible, I like to see laws obeyed since I obey them myself. Do unto others. So I won't fraudulently get pain killers. I usually don't have to but some doctors put undeserved suspicion on patients. That's the best I can do. Does2- Not much of what you say makes any sense to me. I was imitating your first paragraph. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non_sequitur_(logic) "You came her pissed" I arrived here trying to figure out why dentists are cruel sadists. Then I read some posts. Then I got pissed. "at people who can attain pills easier than you" At people who abuse the system at others' expense. "... and don't even need them." You forgot a pronoun. Who doesn't even need them? "lrn2pain, it should be easy." Again... what?
So you registered for this site to make that rant? SHUT UP! And learn how to brush your damn teeth if your so afraid of the dentist!
I can kind of see his point. I take meds for pain, and they make everyday life a lot easier. I don't judge other people for using them recreationally, because I myself get some enjoyment in addition to the pain relief. I get mine through the mail from the VA at no cost, as I am on a disability pension. And I am bombarded by people wanting to buy them. But I know the frustration of dealing with unsympathetic doctors. My original doctor even recommended I take otc NSAIDS, knowing full well that anti-inflammatories don't work with nerve pain. He treated me like a wimp for complaining about pain he had never experienced.
Dentists are stingy with pain meds because, yes people are constantly trying to get stronger meds than needed from them. But dont be a antidentite, maybe just explain that your in a massive amount of pain. They are scrutinized very closely with handing out scripts, but I dont see the problem if your getting root canals. Try a different dentist.
You win. You were right all along, does2: you should have left the thread. I can not compete with your superior ability to form and express cohesive arguments. To anyone but Does2: Was "lrn2pain" supposed to be "learn to pain"? Is "pain" a slang verb with the kids today? Jeez, I am only 40. I thought I waz still down with ur 3xpr35510|\|5. Can I change my name /\c+u113 |-|ur+5 ? This is fun.
Do you know if the scrutiny on dentists is officially higher than on M.D.'s? It sure seems that way. I've tried 4 or 5 since all this root canal stuff, maybe I am just unlucky. There was one endodontist who gave me about 4 days of vicodin once after we'd root canaled the wrong tooth, and I was waiting for the appointment to try another one near it. That's the strongest pain control I've ever gotten from any dentist or endondontist. Other times it's always Tylenol 3. This time I'm giving the Tylenol 3 back to the dentist because it has zero effect. Tooth pain is not well understood. It can start with one tooth and the perception of it can migrate to other teeth or one side of your face or your whole head. Ibuprofen works OK but I'm not supposed to take that. Now I remember a story- I was 27, got a cavity filled and wrecked a motorcycle on the same day. The tooth didn't even hurt before but when the local novocaine wore off the pain came back so suddenly I almost wrecked the motorcycle a 2nd time. I could barely speak to the Dentist's answering machine. I went to an ER for about 5 hours. At one point I punched a brick wall in hopes of making my hand hurt more than the tooth, you know, shuffle things up a little. I asked my roomate to go home and get the pliers. They finally sent me home with one pill. I think it was called percodan. I never understood the whole thing. It seemed cruel to make me sit there. Looking back now, I wonder if they thought I was just scamming for pain medicine. Perhaps "I've got a toothache" is one they've heard before. As for the long wait, a doctor friend explained to me that ER triage is handled first by who is most likely to die. Perhaps second by pain level. So I guess someone before me was closer to death than me.
Dentist are more closely monitored when it comes to handing out scripts, that is a fact. Your best bet would be asking your regular doctor assuming you have one. Or try the ER but like you said its on a injury severity basis so be prepared to wait. I would try to ask family and friends about their doctors history of prescribing scripts and try to get a appointment, theres lots of doctors that are pretty loose with the pen.
Hip jive. It isn't about winning, bro. It is about having fun. Are you like 12 or did you miss the point?
Who said we are pill poppers, this guys dentist wont give him pain meds, I was telling him why they dont. If you are in pain then you should go to a doctor and get something for it. Unless you would rather get them from a source on the street, but who knows really what your buying. I personaly very rarely take any pills, not even aspirin. And yes I have a job, yourself?
