My dreadies are 2.5 months old. and I really want some of them to be thicker. anyone know a way to combine without getting a Y split from it? and please, no rubber bands, my friend had rubber bands, and they got stuck in there permanently.
Could I thread one dread through another and wrap it or something?

You can try to palm roll them togther often...that usually works.

palm rolling or backcombing together would work depending on how knotty they are at this point

well if they are pretty well formed let them grow together...if u give them about 2 to 3 weeks to go u can start having them grow together...just dont rip and tear them at all...they will get fatter and you'll love the results :)

palm roll them together a lot, especially when they're kind of wet out of the shower, dont rip/tear, try putting a bead over the two, close to the root but doesn't have to be too close

    all should work

u can also try using hair jewelry to get them to grow together...like dread coils are an awesome idea to use on dreads u want to grow together...and some nice glass beads too.

My dreads are about as old as yours are and I'm just beginning to want some thicker dreads too, so all I've been doing is not ripping them apart after I wash them. I've already got a few dreads knotting together. If you want to help the process you could put a bead around two dreads you want to combine, or maybe tied a piece of hemp or something around the two. Just leaving my hair be is working for me though.
