Its damn cold here in NYC this winter, and I have taken to wearing shorter shirts. The solution? Thats what a long mink coat is made for. Works very well and I love the look. Do you still wear fur girls?
Yes, hose in this weather should be at least 30 denier. And no peep-toes or sandalettes; closed shoes only.
Since my varicose veins surgeries and overall skin-colored leg tattooing several years ago, I enjoy going without hose in warmer weather. But when we go out for the evening, to church, and special occasions, we'll wear lower denier hose.
Wearing hose all year round is a requirement of my company dress code. I don't mind as I'm usually in air conditioning during the summer
Thats just the start of my company dress code for women- none for men. I'm told "gentlemen don't need to be told how to dress for business". Its also suits or dresses, no pants. limited jewelry, no bare shoulders, and heels all the time. I don't mind though. Its what I would wear anyway.
Rhonda, this brings up the "glass ceiling" thing, probably my greatest rant as a woman. Between feminine hygiene products, feminine fashion, etc., it costs more to be a woman, yet we make less than men, even though we might be doing the same jobs.
yes that pains me as well. I work for an old Scottish family investing in US business properties. Its mostly all old school men and the few women employed must work under the men. However I work alone in NYC so I am pretty free to do (and wear) what I want. And they do pay me very well- no idea what the men make- probably more. You are right, it does cost more to be a woman. but its worth it.
