I'm very interested in doing a raw cocao fast. I've eaten a 8oz bag in 3 so days now and feel pretty amazing.

I've water fasted for two days and have done several week long juice fasts, as well as a colon cleanse and a 15 day vegetable and juice fast. I'm a health nut lol.

I'm going to get about 10lbs of hemp hearts and 10lbs of cocao nibs and strictly only eat those for the rest of my life and water because they've got all that we need plus it's a good preparation for the coming economic collapse and solar flares headed our way, and the illuminate NWO.

Has anyone ever done a strictly all cocao fast?

Well they all have all that i think i need cocoa has unusually high amounts vitamin c which cancels fruit out of the situation, antioxidants healthy fats, hemp seeds have amino acids as well as cocao, fatty acids, omega's, trace minerals, magnesium which is the number one nutrient defieciency in America (on purpose) and it helps the heart function properly and the entire system.

I love cocoa but I'm not going to go out and do a fast based on what someone 'thinks' cocoa has going for it. When I ask for data, I'm looking for facts, maybe a link (because my quick google couldn't find anything real) before I go altering an eating pattern.

Not trying to be an ass here, I would love it if this fast was legit. But I need some real data before jumping on another fad diet bandwagon.

I understand, i'll do the fast and let you know how it goes.

I've read in a raw food forum about this guy doing a week long fast on cocao and minimal food. i'll find the post and put it up here.

"i went on an all cacao diet for one week where i ate cacao, water (and some minimal amounts of other foods) the results were very intense. When eating around a pound, or a pound and a half, i felt like i was in heaven and met many intersting people, who i felt i truly loved as people. My body would occasionally shake in pleasure and my the mornings would seem like dreams while the nights would seem more like incredible adventures probably due to the fact that i had more energy durring this time. I explained this feeling to some friends of mine in a more "in depth" way and they decided to try it for themselves. One of them had done the drug ecstacy a few times and after eating around a pound told me (with a large grin) that the feeling was almost identicle. Cacao is one of the most complex foods known to man. It contains many compounds including; Anandamide (which is beggining to be known in the science world as the bliss chemical), Dopamine (increases mental concentracion as well as dampers the feeling of hunger) PEA (the same chemical released by our brains when we are in love), Seratonin (anti stress neurotransmitter, MDMA (ecstacy)causes the brain to generate seratonin), Tryptophan (an anti depresscent, needed in the creation natural seratonin in the brain), and MAO inhibitors which allow these neurotransmitters to flow throughout the brain and body for a longer amount of time and faster. And much much more. It is also very good for the heart and liver.... reasearch it, or try eating a pound and you will understand. And I personally experienced no "come down" . I went up very fast and came down to a point above where i had started. And after this I felt i had a new understanding on life so i felt satisfaction even after there was no more traces of cacao in my body. this is just a personal experience although i have done much research on the subject."

You'd be correct. Cacao doesn't contain methionine, an essential amino acid: You'd suffer from malnutrition and might even end up dying if you don't get all your essential amino acids. It also lacks a number of key minerals and vitamins.

15 days isn't very long. You can fast for that long without significant problems. You're talking the rest of your life.

So wait, you take vitamins/supplements, and want to eat all the chocolate you have a mind to, and you think that's fasting? OR healthy?

No it's raw cocao not chocolate, chocolate is processed, raw cocao is a live superfood From the cocao bean chocolate is made from it but they add synthetic sugars and process it with alkalia which basically strips all the nutrients and active ingredients It has many nutrients and trace minerals that's good for brain function and your heart. From what i've tasted of it, it has absolutely no sugar in it. :)

And if i could manage to get it all down it would be a great success. The stuff is just so damn bitter, you can taste the alkaloids in it. It has a awesome effect to it. Good for focus, energy, the whole nine yards i guess it's why the mayan's named it the Food Of The Gods.

You can buy all sorts of chocolate. You can MAKE a damn good chocolate bar by crushing nibs up with sugar and heating it into a mold or whatever.

There's many ways of processing chocolate, but many are NOT very damaging. Go on, put some nibs in a coffee grinder..... but don't burn it out-in a few minutes it will be gooey chocolate, without the sugar.

It is NOT a "superfood"...... it's good for you in small amounts, it's NOT a diet and even if it has bits of things you need, it's not in the ratios or amounts needed to sustain life.

nibs are also very expensive..... and if you really think the world will end, as someone (who you seemed to not understand) said, they're about the first thing you won't be able to get.

That may be so, yes i guess i did misunderstand the guy, but look at all these people who have eaten artificial foods there whole life they're still goin, even though not at there optimum, but i think i'm gonna just load up on very few different foods, cocao, hemp seeds, maybe walnuts and just be prepared for the worst and expect the best. I don't think the world is going to end it was just a joke i think it is a rebirth. But still why not be prepared right?! From what the world is looking like it does seem like it might end but it wont but how do i know? lol

It's actually the most chemically complex and nutrient dense food on the planet that we know of according to David Wolfe -David Wolfe — Health, Eco, Nutrition, and Natural Beauty Expert

The origin of chocolate is derived from the cacao bean (pronounced "kuh-KOW"), which quite simply are the seeds of the cacao fruit. According to "Chocolate: History, Culture and Heritage," the use of cacao by humans is well beyond 5,000 years old and was eaten by the Native Americans, Aztecs, Olmecs and Mayans. Once symbolic of great wealth, the Mayans were the first civilization to use cacao beans as a source of currency; however, it was the Europeans who first combined cacao with refined sugars.

    Raw vs. Roasted

The cacao bean is the food that all of the scientific studies on chocolate are actually referring to, not its sugary refined byproduct. Although major leading chocolate companies make strong mention of their products' high antioxidant content, the cacao bean has an exceptionally significantly greater antioxidant capacity. The manufacturing of chocolate generally consists of heating the cacao beans at approximately 250 degrees, a process that destroys the world's most powerful food known for centuries as "the food of the God's."

    Roasted Cacao

What you probably never learned from reading the wrapper of a candy bar is that the refined sugar found in chocolate depletes the body of minerals, can cause blood sugar disorders and can result in dehydration of the body. The cacao bean has a higher VITAMIN C content than any other food in the world; however, chocolate contains no vitamin C at all because it is all destroyed when it is heated.

    Raw Cacao

David Wolfe, one of the world's leading authorities on nutrition, discusses in his book "Naked Chocolate" the greater good of eating chocolate in its raw, natural state as the cacao bean rather than as a processed sweet treat. He explains how key nutrients are destroyed and sapped of their health properties when the original cacao bean is excessively heated, roasted, toasted or melted. Wolfe educates his readers of the seemingly endless health benefits possessed by the cacao bean, most of which do not stand a chance of survival once it is heated and converted to chocolate.
    Mineral Content
Very few foods in the world can be used as an actual mineral supplement but cacao is one of them. Cacao contains the highest natural source of magnesium, chromium, iron, zinc, copper and manganese, all of which are the most deficient minerals in the world.

    Mood

Cacao has a long-standing reputation as being referred to as both a "love chemical" and a "bliss chemical." Cacao contains properties with therapeutic levels that positively affect a person's mood, memory, appetite, pain perception, feelings of attraction, excitement and euphoria. It also contains high concentrations of arginine, an amino acid that increases sexual desire by increasing blood flow throughout the body.

    Antioxidants

Cacao contains the alkaloid theobromine, which dilates the body's capillaries. This process allows other foods that are eaten with cacao to be absorbed deeper into your system more so than through any other process. Cacao is the most complex food in the world. With more than 1,200 constituents, it contains a far greater amount of antioxidants than all of the world's leading antioxidant-rich foods. Cacao is so powerful that it actually contains 15 times more antioxidants than blueberries, 20 times more than green tea and 30 times more than red wine.

    Hey, i'm not doubting that.

But I still think it's most healthy to eat lots of different healthy things.

And things can be TOO nutrient dense.... like how if you let someone coming out of starvation eat all they want, they'll drop dead on you.

You do need things like fiber, that are basically place holders but keep your guts movin' along properly..... It's good to digest a variety of foods and get different types of things, at different speeds, in different amounts.

Not to mention, health is great, but I love food, and I love all types of food. I'd NEVER give up everything for just caocao...... don't get me wrong, I like it, but I just have an occasional cup of hot chocolate made with (freshly)ground caocao nibs, whole milk, cinnamon, ginger, and (unbleached unprocessed) sugar..... and look, right there, that's a lot more than just nibs, and even so, I don't have it so often.... it would be very boring to eat nibs all day long, to me.

Yeah i completely understand that. I guess i'm just wierd i like to do different kinds of fasts and stuff mainly because it's sort of a hobby that i got into because of my life situation wasn't going so well physically and mentally at one point. It makes me feel like i accomplished something maybe, plus the effects of fasts and i'm sure the cocao fast i will do shortly will be very interesting to see what happens.
