Cloning is when you take a shoot from a plant and root it, so that you now have two plants.
    T
he advantage of cloning instead of starting from seed, is that you are duplicating a plant that you already know the properties of. Most specifically if it's male or female. So you grow a plant from seed, determine that it's a female and that its a strain you would like to keep, then you make clones of it. This is how you grow sensimilla (without seeds).

At the most basic, all you need to do to make a clone is take a cutting and put the cut end in a cup of plain, tepid water until it starts growing roots, then you put it in soil. You need to change the water regularly so that the cutting has a fresh supply of oxygen all the time.

The cutting should be at least 3 inches long and have at least 3 pairs of branches on it so it will be strong enough to survive the rooting process. The stem diameter should not be larger than about 1/8 inch, (the younger, greener and softer shoots are most responsive to cloning). The woodier (stiffer) the stem is, the harder it will be to get the clones to take.

For better results, cut the end of the cutting at a steep angle to expose more of the inner part of the stem. Personally, I also split the cut end and scrape the outer bark off about 1/2 an inch of the stem to expose even more.

Some people say to use rockwool cubes and a rooting compound, but I think a bubble cloner is the best method.

You should cover the clones with a plastic dome or clear bag to help retain moisture, heat and to diffuse light until the clones have rooted.
Once they have rooted, they don't need a cover any longer, and should be put in soil, or if hydroponic they should be given nutrients right away.

All the time until they have rooted, the plant will be using stored nutrients and drawing minor amounts of water directly through the stem. This is mainly why the clone needs to be a certain size.

Clones also root best at temps around 80 to 90F, as much humidity as you can give them and indirect/soft light.

For proper information the topic is too big to summarize here.
You should look it up and study a bit.

preciate that nickle bag.....i always see people talkin bout cloning and i never knew exactly what they meant by it and the process. so do you jus cut off part of the plant once you figure out whether its female or male and then do what you said?

I would sugest taking a clone from each of your seeded plants and put the clones into bloom, that way if you find one of them you really like, you can keep cloning. Attempting to clone during bloom is bad ju-ju and will most likely fail to produce a plant. I use a dome and rockwool and sometimes jiffy pellets, and I also use a bubble cloner, both work great. You should get some baby food for them too, basicly fert with very small amounts of NPK so it doesn't burn the new roots. There's also an anti-wilt spray, and it works really well with some strains, and ok with others. Oh, and one last thing, make sure and give them atleast 18 hours of light a day, keep them out of sunlight, 24 hours a day would be better, but 18 will work. Ya don't want the clones to try and bloom inside of the dome, found that one out the hard way. lol

Count two nodes down, cut with a sterile razor at 45 degree angle, smear olivia's cloning gel all over the cut, and put it into a plug or your rockwool or whatever. You probably wanna have some olivia's inside the hole too.
