I read clockwork orange and loved it, can anyone recommend other works, or perhaps authors like burgess?
Malcolm McDowell(guy who played alex in clockwork orange movie) did another weird movie after clockwork called O Lucky Man. as far as books go ive heard this book compared to orwell's 1984(ive read both clockwork and 1984 realy not comparible) and various works by Erich Fromm
try lord of the flies, 1984, and a brave new world. all great reads. the whole dystopic genre is one of my favorites. you might like to read V for Vendetta as well, if not for anti parliament for the hilarity.
A short story for you, you can find it online : Ray Bradbury's "A Sound of Thunder". My favorite short story of all time. They apparently made it into a movie (How? I think they ruined it, naturally), but read the short story first.
For a more modern book, try Hubert Selby Jr's Requiem for a Dream. If you liked the Nadsat slang, then this could be a good book seeming it's mostly typed phonetically. It's depressing as hell, though.
