Would it hurt afterward or during? I am worried that I might rip the skin if I am with a girl and I would probably pass out and bleed alot more than I should. Does anyone have any advice?

Well I gotta assume even with meds it would definitly sting for a few days, but normally as with childhood circumcision everything winds up fine.

Cheech - today the doctor will provide a local anaesthesia to the penis, so it does not hurt at all. There is a several week recovery time before you can have sex or masturbate. Getting an erection after the circumcision will happen, but should not be a problem. Check with the doctor about this.

If you decide to get circumcised, insist on a "loose cut" which leaves as much of your foreskin as possible.

Medical studies have shown that uncut guys are more likely to get STDs if they do not use condoms during sex, and perhaps 10-15% of uncut guys are unable to retract the foreskin entirely over the glans when erect, which can interfere with enjoyment of sex later in life. At your age, however, if this is a problem, you could still mature out of it.

why are you choosing to do this? why do you want to cut up your genitals? not being circumcised is natural and, in most parts of hte world, normal

If you follow the doctors instructions you should be fine. You better get some painkillers for after though, once the local wears off it's probably gona hurt like hell until it heals, especially if you get an erection. A normal cut/incision hurts for awhile, think about one on this particularly sensitive piece of anatomy. Also remember local anesthetic = needle in dick to inject it. I'd advise some xanax before the procedure, but thats just me. Mine was done as an infant/newborn so I didn't have to deal with all this.

    Good Luck. You're braver than I . . .

I was very recently circumsized at the age of 24. I had to do it due to a medical problem (phimosis, aka a tight ring of foreskin that prevents it from retracting, mine was so severe that if I got an erection I would tear).

To answer your questions... It will hurt a LOT. You aren't supposed to have sex for 9 weeks according to my doctor. It has been about 20 weeks for me so far, and I am still not used to it.

Until the incision is entirely healed up and all sutures removed, you are going to be in great discomfort at all times day and night. I was given codeine for the pain, and even on a full dose I felt what I can describe as a dull ache.

If you get an erection, you will most likely bleed when the sutures put strain on the incision. When you go to sleep, you will most likely wake up and have bled a little bit due to rubbing up against blankets and bedding. Throughout the day you will be in pain as your incision rubs against clothing while moving around. If you have a physical job, I recommend not working until fully healed. I was landscaping at the time, and one day one of my sutures broke entirely and I bled like a pig on the killing floor. Thanks to the codeine, I didn't really notice the pain much, but at lunch one of my co-workers asked why my crotch was covered in blood, I looked down, then rushed to the washroom. Upon dropping my pants and seeing all that blood on a very special area, I passed out. When I passed out I tore 3 more sutures, and I woke up about 15 minutes later in a pool of blood from the one place you don't want to bleed from.

Now, I know I make it sound horrible. Believe me, it was. For me. I've read about other men who had relatively no trouble with the procedure and are much happier for it.

Once you're fully healed up like I am, you face yet more problems. Previously, the head of your penis was protected at all times. I am still not used to my clothing rubbing against me. It's a constant distraction and discomfort.

Masturbation will also change greatly. Uncut, you will often not need any kind of lubrication. After... Different story. I haven't got the time to be messing about with lotions and such, so I just go without. Depending on how you feel about that though, could be an issue.

Sensitivity also drops way down, due to what I mentioned earlier, rubbing against clothing all day long whereas before you rarely ever touched anything outside of intercourse and washing.

Intercourse is different, too. I do not recommend having sex until you are several weeks after full healing. The scar tissue will still be tender, and things are very different. Previously the foreskin acted as a sort of sheath that allowed for easier movement and less friction. That's over, and now it's all friction all the time.

I'm still considered to be in the early stages, however. Apparently you can't really say for sure until about a year or so afterwards when you are really "grown" into your new cut look.

I can say one thing for sure, as far as I am concerned, I would have done nearly anything to avoid it if I could do it all over again.

If you have any specific questions, let me know!

Agwa - I sympathize with what you had to go through, but it appears to be an extreme situation, and possibly due to a botched operation - a "tight cut" and not a "loose cut" of your foreskin. If you had gotten a "loose cut" like I did as a baby, there would have been enough foreskin left to not stretch and break the sutures when you have an erection. I have enough foreskin left so I can move the remaining foreskin over the lower half of the glans even when fully erect. You might consider suing your doctors for botching your circumcision and causing you so many problems.

I was 18 when i went under the knife. Man one thing is for real. Erections HURT and they HURT bad. Your dick is trying to heal, mean while you think of sex and sooner or later you got a hard on. Thats the worst part, stiches trying to heal, erection wants to spread skin. Tuck that shit between your legs and think of grandma. Anyways if you can have sex with the skin np, no SURGERY. Surgery makes it bad bad bad the first two weeks suck but i tell you. Sex after words.....................................its goooooooooood
