I smoke about 2 cigarettte's per week, and was wondering if I could be doing any permenate damage to my lungs/overall health. I can sorta feel my lungs being damaged by the cigarette smoke. My question is this...I have seen the pictures of long-term smokers' lungs and I want to know if the tar that you inhale ever leaves your lungs or if your stuck with the damage forever. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I can sorta feel the damage i've done over the past 6 months or so of smoking about 2 cigs per week. Would a long break from cig's make this feeling of lung damage go away?

The tar in cigarette smoke will stick to the inside of your lungs no matter how much you smoke. There will be only a minimal amount in your lungs as you smoke so little, not too much to concern you i shouldn't think. Your body will likely be able to manage to rid your lungs of this amount, dont quote me on that though,ok.

If someone were a heavy smoker and they were to quit, I do know that it takes approxamatly 7yrs for your body to clear away the built up tar. Factors such as age and how long the person has been smoking can affect this.
do you smoke ganga by the way? As it has much more tar than cigarrettes.
hope i was of some help.

why do you smoke cigarettes if you're not addicted to them? what's the point?

and quitting smoking completely will greatly increase your lungs health. even just two cigarettes a week will fuck with your lungs. when i quit smoking, within about two days i noticed i could run another quarter to half mile further before getting winded than when i was smoking. think about it; that 400 or so yards could be the difference between getting caught by the cops and getting away.

you really should think about just completely quitting altogether. just think about what you're doing. you're paying money (maybe not if youre only smoking 2 a week) to smoke something that gives absolutely no effect, all the while increasing your risk for cancers, heart disease, macular degeneration (my grandfathers blind because of this), stroke and just fucking up your body in general. even though i quit smoking i will still have a much higher chance of getting the diseases i listed before and more. the damage never goes away completely.

not too long ago i was staying with my grandfather and when i finally came to the realization that the reason he feels like shit all the time is because he smoked cigarettes a completely pointless thing to do. he was lucky and he didnt get cancer but he still has heart problems, is blind, has some fucked up problem with the veins in his leg that causes him horrible pain, he has problems with his stomach that i cant even understand. i could list shit off all day. anyways, since then it literally makes me sick to even see a cigarette.

I smoke something like that too, 2 or 3 ciggs a week. I still get a buzz (like when most people first started smoking) so I smoke. I have'nt noticed anything bad going down, and I doubt it could be too bad for you. Really, it's only 2 cigarettes a week. Yeah, it adds up, but still, thats not very much. If you really feel the need to stop, stop. My friend smokes like a half a pack a day, and can only run about 50 feet before he gets completely out of breath. Then he has to take like two minutes to catch his breath. It's sad too, because I'm like twice his size, and I can run alot longer than that.

I really only smoke when I'm around people and I need something to do with my hands while I'm talking. And I hardly leave my house, so that isn't very often. Also when I'm driving. And, just in case, I have a four a day limit. :D I'm a nerd.

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
tell me just one thing: if tobacco doesn't give you any effect, then why the hell there are people smoking 3 packs a day??? Why are peoploe smoking pipes, cigars?

And BTW, do you smoke just to get an effect, or you smoke something because of its pleasure?

Oh, BTW... if tobacco doesn't give you any effect, then why is nicotiana tabacum considered an hallucinogenic plant?

Tobacco does have an effect, its just that the majority of smokers do it way too often to feel it. For about a month I was a regular smoker and I never got a buzz anymore. So I stopped for a couple months and now I smoke maybe 2-3 times a week at most and I get a buzz every time. I also like to smoke after the green as it increases that buzz as well.

I used to always love a cigarette after I did some coke... it's weird thinking about how I used to do that. I feel dirty. But really cool.... like a really cool rock star.... like I could marry Nikki Sixx!!! Holy shit! I'm gonna start doing it again! :)

    not really. I can't afford it. :(

    I know whatcha mean.

I look like Nikki Sixx and girls that do coke are always after me. I don't know why they like musicians so much. I think its just the lifestyle...the parties and clubs, dancing and the hot tunes...Nothing like being onstage and locking eyes with a sexy girl who's dancin' her ass off. It's like I'm touching her thru my music and she can feel it every time I pluck a string...

    oh yeah cigs!
I quit smoking a few years ago.
    Gotta keep my body tight!
