Church of the Good Earth 1963 and Beyond

Hi Folks, My name is Rich went by Little Rich. Moved into the Fell St. House in when The Good Earth Commune was in it's Infancy. The "Ever Lovin Trading Post" was going good on Haight St. Cyril, Kathy (MaMa). Quinones Family, My Girl Betty, Nathanial and Terri, Steve, Artua (Oak St. House) when we obtained it, Stayed there a few times, but mostly at Fell st. Alot more people I remember fondly but not necesarily their names at this moment, but as my memory comes to me, I might. Hope I got the right Place, and you all remember the Ever Lovin Trading Post, the Concerts by our Family band "Osceola" the Parties at Playland Carousel with Jefferson Airplane and our Family. Let me Know if I'm in the Right Place or my Recollections or mind is just gone.

I lived in Fell Street in '73 in the back porch. LOL With a king size water bed. Talk about living dangerously. Rickety wooden old in-closed porch.

 

You've got the right place. I only visited thet FellSt. house a time or two with Steve Stacy. I remember as I was leaving after my first visit a short furry fella showed up having just arrived in town with a gunny sack full of freash buttons.

Sag Darel is alive and well. made some fast fat money and saved his life. Couple of union jobs with weekend overtime. Doing good. Roof over head. Is on his very last truck load payment. Looks like he'll make it. Whoo Hah!

Just not got a short PM from TurtleDan. He's doing fine. Too much work. We may arrange a future visit, to talk eye to eye.

Hippies please explain

Ive heard of them but I never really knew what they did.. Please explain who were the hippies and what did they do? were they just humanitarians that spoke of love and not war?? i would like to learn some background info on em?

So is this like just for people of that grew up in the beginning or is this group/commune open to young and ripe minds. Ive had a lot happen that has steered me in the right direction but somewhat away from society at the same time. I just want to work on my spiritual path and surround myself with those who are compassionate and loving.

 

The whole of "Hipforums" is totally open to the entire public. If you find these people in this space interesting and you believe that you want to hang out, then pull up a chair, and come back all of the time. It's easy to fit in. You just talk. LOL. Easy.

To address doobie: The Church Of The Good Earth is our commune from the 70s. Most everyone that posts in here are commune brothers and sisters. There are a few old heads that post on occation.

The Hippie House Party is for one and all who like to have fun and talk at any hr day or night. You'd probably have more fun there, we're old..lol..

i spent time in the '60s in south Fla. If you're not of the jocal tribe you're an alien. I say this as a native born Floridian, if you wander out of your county they likely to look at you a little strange. lol That house party is here.

Hi, Just found my Password to get back in. A few more Names came to my adled Brain. Of Course, Cyril and Nancy and Boogie Isaacs (Adopted from Betty and I) Love you. Midge, Love You too. Steve, still can't remember your Beautiful Wifes Name, but I do Remember Her and Her Mother who Lived with us for awhile. Her Name will come to me soon. Ever Lovin Tradin Post, Free Store in Front, Consignment in back. Magic People Commune around the corner and up in Garbageville (Garberville/Miranda Loving Name). Moved up to Sunnyridge Commune Oregon, and Helped Build Browntown Commune (Later Bulldozed by BLM), down the Road from Sunnyridge. Sorry about the Long Ramblin. Just good Memories. Anyone here Live in SunnyRidge?
A few Did come up from Good Earth and lived for awhile, I do remember a woman named Chris Who got Married to another Good Earther, I believe they both were from Good earth, came up there and then got Married there. Anyone from Magic People Commune Here too?

 

The Magic People had a house in the Haight near us. Did you know one of thier women named Rusty? We had more than one female Chris.......

 

Magic People were a Sister Commune to Good Earth. Just to let you know.

 

Not sure of Rusty, maybe after I left. I Worked in the Candle Factory in Garberville/Miranda and stayed up at the "Ranch" with them and helped Steven Katz build a Sauna at the Pond near the Ranch. It Burned down a few years Later (Careless Sauna use). Heated with a 55 gal Drum.

 

SunnyRidge is up in Southern Oregon, Outside Cave Junction in the Siskiyou Mts. Josephine County. It is near a "Hippie Town Called Takilma Oregon. Over the Mountain From Happy Camp California. Beautiful area up there. Rough and Ready SmokeJumper Training Base is close too.

 

Midge Lived in Good Earth then moved in with The Magic People. Then moved up to the Ranch in Garberville.

 

That's beautiful country. I have a distant cuz from up around Happy Camp/Cresant City area. Good Earth bought land in Ash Valley near Roseburg although we're scattered through the north coast area these days. Many are in the Eugene area and will most likely be rendezvousing at the Oregon Country Fair.

 

Ranger, Real cool. Sunnyvale (Ken Kesey's Commune) is up that way near Eugene and Corvalis. I grew up in Klamath Falls and allot of areas Along the West Coast. Is Cyril, Nancy and Boogie,( I know they have other Kids since then, but don't know their names), Steve still around?
