so guys..... i choped, and am having a super hard time with it. even though i learned that it needed to be done.

I feel like im not part of the club anymore, and things are different.
I hope I get over this soon.....

I cant believe I did it, but im going to start over, thats for sure. Hoepfully theres not a gooey mess inside the second time 'round.

awww.... big big hugs!!! you are definitely still a part of the club, and if you had a gooey nasty mess inside, it's really better this way, though i know how hard it must be for you. i sometimes have dreams that i've chopped them off, and i wake up traumatized, so i can't even imagine what it would be like for real. we still love you, dreads or no! :)

I feel for ya. I haven't had dreads for very long, but I'm already attatched to them. I haven't had less than shoulder length hair in many years, so I think I would go through similar pain.

You can take this as a positive experience- since you got rid of the wax dreads, and at the same time know what its like to lose them. I'd think that could be a powerful motivator!

i not once used wax.... so i thought i was ok, a friend put gel on them once, and i washed it out.. but who knows it could be that.

I probably will post some pictures, but it wouldnt help those who use wax really, because mine were super gross never even touching the stuff.

im pretty sure the goo was telling me to cut it off.... sort of random decision, but im free of stupid hair dye :)

oh and, im not bald... i choped out the dye and have been brushing them out. its working very well, which i am surprise, it has be 3 and a half years. its also surprisingly longer and thicker than i thought it would be.

cheers all.. im feeling better about it now :)

What do you think all the goo inside was from? I think you said you never used wax, but did you use any other products? And I hear people saying that even in 100% natural dreads there is still some stuff inside....just the crap that collects in your hair over time.

she mentioned something about hair dye... my guess is that it didn't all get rinsed out, especially if she used the conditioner afterward... and then mold. i could be totally wrong, just what i got from it.

woah dude! woah! that's crazyness! I'm glad you did what you had to do though and can now grow in the natural dreadies you wanted. I almost wish I didn't read this post- it would have like blown my mind when I see you in a few weeks.

    You're beautiful no matter what!
    I love you!!!!
