China’s new analog chip runs 1,000x faster than Nvidia GPUs

The article doesn't say it, but a Matrix Multiplication chip like this one can produce all the graphics and video games you want, by merely using AI to translate. You can assume we ain't seen nothing yet, but this is a milestone in that it gives us a better idea of what to expect in the next generation hardware. The choice of matrix multiplication simply reflects a more brute force engineering approach, and I expect others are already using supercomputers to design better chips. What's so big about this is the leap in speed and efficiency is so great it will make all of our current laptops obsolete.

In ten years a laptop will do everything except make coffee, weight only 2lbs, and recharge itself overnight. The biggest remaining obstacles are cheap high-speed memory and 3d stacking, and everyone's been working on those for decades. The newest All-In-Wonder chips are already poised to take over the market and, within five years, will be ubiquitous.

Intel's chips even have their own power regulator, so they can always blame any problems on the laptop itself. What that means is our chips are becoming cheap enough they have no choice but to make electronics more reliable.

I count no fewer than 21 threads you've posted about Nvidia. You don't need a new thread for the same subject. I should combine them all into one, but I ain't gonna waste my time.

No more Nvidia threads. Use the 21 you already started with few or no comments on them.
