    Oh, god! Makes me sick...

Reminds me a bit of a Brainwashing, or a rally in 1930's germany...

"thou shalt not have other gods before me"
its in the bible, you stupid "christian" teacher.
this is why i don't go to a church anymore. i'm still a christian, but i don't place my faith in the hands of man. this video makes me sick. it makes all christians look fucking crazy. bush just might be the anti christ. this is a sign of it-the bible speaks of people worshiping a false god.

They didn't look forced to me, more like coaxed and encouraged, which is even more disturbing.

    Duh, christianity IS a cult...
I kid, I kid. But a lot of churches seem cult-like nowadays - all Jesus said was basically love one another and stop with the killing already. Everything else was added for political agendas (mostly by the Church of Rome).
Not that I worship jesus in any way shape or form, but the amount of shit that gets attributed to the guy is ridiculous.

Bush sux. praising him is like praising dirt; only i think that dirt has more integrity. people being coaxed or forced to do anything for bush is just wrong....wrong i tell you!!!

    This title is completely misinformed.

These are not the "children of America"... this is a small radical group of kids in a cult Christian setting. You should watch the movie before posting such bullshit.

I'm sorry if the title misinformed some people, believe me I did not mean for that. I simply meant that these are children from america, just like I am technically a child of England.
I hope no one is angry with me for the title, I didn't mean to upset anyone, I'm sorry.

Peace and love wished to my brothers and sisters on this forum.

haha-jesus was the first hippie if you think about it...
about the church thing-yes i agree. i think it was meant to be a community thing way back in the beginning, but now you have to be members, and pay dues, and there's polotics, churches spitting off to form new churches because of disagreements-a church in my boyfriend's town has a annual fair where there's a whole row of gambling games. this can lead so many astray.

I believe I might have a fairly distorted image of christian america. please help me, those jesus camps, are they rare or not? is it true that molst atheists will have a hard time in most of america (except for the coasts) because there are a lot of christians around? are there a lot of so-called tv-priests? you know, those guys who have tv shows telling about god and healing people. how influental are they and how many followers do they have?

I live in Colorado Springs, which is pretty much Evangelical central. So my view may be a little skewed, but in my opinion, Christianity has a huge influence on American politics. Especially with the Republican right wing. Here in Colorado I have seen Christianity influence same sex marriage laws in the last elections, and an upcoming ammendment to outlaw abortions. In nearby Kansas, Christianity was influential in getting the state education board to include Creationism in science classes, while downplaying Evolutionary theories. So yes, Christianity plays a huge role in American politics, unfortunately.
As for TV preachers, they suck away the incomes of mostly mid to low income families with one or more gullible parents.

Well actual christianity has very little pull. But modified western christianity... well it has a lot. As for those jesus camps not too popular nation wide.
