I was wondering if you had to get a different type of ssalvia to chew it, or if you could just chew the extract that's used for smoking?
I don't think you would get much of an effect, but I'm pretty sure I heard otherwise on Erowid. Look it up. I haven't tried it so I can't really say.
I actual just registered for pretty much the same question. I am against smoking things if possible. It's just a personal preference, I do not feel healthy inhaling any smoke in my lungs. Any details on what kind for chewing? The usual 10x extract? How much, how long?
Swallowing will give no effect. All the active chemical is absorbed in the mouth. Chew a fat quid (if they're not fortified, like 8-10 leaves) for like 30 minutes or so. Be sure to get it under the tounge and between the cheek and gums a lot. It's really nasty. I couldn't keep it in my mouth when I tried it. You aren't going to get the "drop out from reality" effect people get from smoking it, but you will get some odd effects. Personally I think Salvia is extremely unpleasant unless you completely lose it. Sucking extract would probably work better but I don't know how much you ashould be using in that case. Let's say each gram of Salvia (regular leaf) has 4mg of Salvinorin A. That's a good average. Each extract contains a certain amount of Salvinorin per gram. I'm fairly sure 20x has 72mg per gram and 10x has like 35mg per gram. I'm not sure how much in weight 8-10 leaves is, but with these numbers you should be able to start experiment with dosages. You could inject Salvinorin A, but I'm pretty sure no one likes to inject things unnecessarily. You'd probably be launched into ego death like instantly as well. Try what I said earlier.
