I was wondering why the cost of various companies seeds differ so much. For example ive just grown out 'Nirvana - AK48' and the seeds where £15. Now this was my first grow so id never thought of spending £60-80 on them.
Now my £15 seeds have given me a bountifull harvest with 7 out 10 being females! Should i spend all this extra cash on seeds for my next grow and if so WHY?
    Opinions appreciated

Depends on alot of stuff. Everything from how much the final product is worth (some strains are just better than others), to how sought after it is, etc, etc. Alot of times cheaper seeds are f2's, while the more expensive ones tend to be f1's or ibls, which means that the more expensive seeds will be more uniform. In that pack of ak48s, you might have to pop a pack or 2 to find a keeper that is the same caliber as pretty much every female that comes out of a pack of serious seeds ak47. You get what you pay for :spliff: I never really stress about seeds price anyway, because compared to how much a bag of herb costs, theres not even a comparison. I just dropped $140 on a pack of alpha diesels a month or so back, but it's no big deal because I know that I'll get a sour diesel mother out of that, and then I'll have sour diesel for as long as I keep growing... When I buy sour diesel, I wouldn't even get a 1/2 oz for $140.

thats the same exact way i look at it. Put the price of commercial weed compare it to the price of seeds, and how much of a harvest you will get with these seeds..........i don't know about you but ill stick to buying seeds.

thanks, ive read a little deeper into it now and ive got satori and ive ordered blue cheese. Not to pricey but a little more than nirvana, and arrived in less than 24 hours!
has anyone grown out or sampled blue cheese before? i understand its supposed to be a very 'euphoric' high?

Please report back on how it goes with the Satori. I have been considering buying some of those.

I am a Satori grower. My only complaint about Satori is the flowering time--about 12 weeks. However, this is a strain that I will continue to grow. I run a perpetual grow, adding 2-3 new plants to the flowering room every 2 weeks, so one that takes longer is no problem. My other 2 strains are considerably faster.

It is an up happy energetic high, with no paranoia. My friends all love it and wish that "my connection" could get more of it. I find it to be a hardy strain. It seems unaffected by higher temps and requires less nutes than other strains.

Satori is from Mandala seeds and mandala is one of the few companies that are well known for producing quality seeds at a cheap price. I think it just comes down to greed really ... although THSeeds ARE known to produce a great quality product i'm sure they really don't need to charge so mutch for their seeds, and the same goes for other seed companies. If Mandala can produce a quality product at a low price then why can't the rest? The process is exacly the same for all.

bought some new beans this month for a seperate project. dr chronics - biggie small and 5 'mayhem F2'.

i really wanted to try the sensi G13/mr nice hash plant but £90 for ten seeds is a bit much to pay in my circumstances.

There is a great deal of variation in Nirvana's strains...

With buying cheap seeds, I would stick to top- tier seed companies that have a few cheaper varieties as opposed to a company that only sells 20- 30 dollar varieties..

Flying Dutchman, Sensi/ White Label, Dutch Passion, Paradise, and TH Seeds all sell less expensive strains in the $15- $50 range

There are some FINE strains out there that are on the cheap side- White Label's Double Gum, Dutch Passion's Euforia and Twilight are both great varieties...

TRUST ME on the Double Gum... it is a great strain for beginners and very cheap too.
