if you kill an animal in the dead of winter steam rises from the wound. the indians believed it was the soul escaping the body.

Any of you use audible or anything better? I spend about 80% of my time at work just digging... digging is so mind numbingly boring it drives me crazy, audio books are the best invention ever... Music doesn't distract me enough while digging, I feel like digging in an open space is so pointless... Like, machines were created for a reason? How much does it cost to rent a machine for a day? Probably less than paying me to dig by hand all week... It's so unproductive, if it weren't for audiobooks i'd probably quit cause it's the only form of productivity going on around there...

I always just download audiobooks from pirate bay, or get free podcasts through itunes.

And yes, you basically have a job because you're worth less than a backhoe, lol.

cant take a backhoe into a basement. while you can jackhammer the floor away,, still need to dig by hand to replace sewer lines..

It's so annoying... Because there are tons of jobs I can do that a machine can't, instead of making me dig for 5 days straight wouldn't it be smarter to hire a machine for 1 day, then during those 5 days that i'm now not digging I can be doing other jobs to make him more money? The machine would pay for itself basically. It can't be more money to rent a machine for a day than it is to pay me for a week just to dig... I make pretty decent money now, I got a large raise when I came back this year... So it just baffles me...

Not complaining, I don't mind digging if I have a good audiobook or podcast, but bad business just annoys me lol

It's not even that though, I get paid almost double what minimum wage is, that almost makes it more annoying lol but in reality it's pretty awesome... Just very confusing as to why he pays me to dig when it'd be cheaper and faster to get a machine to do it...

This makes sense, what doesn't make sense is when it's a pool you're building... pools are built outside in huge yards :D if it was a basement-pool i'd understand... although a basement pool would be kind of creepy... or cool.. i'm unsure..

I'm surprised your allowed to listen to anything on a job site. Don't they consider that a dangerous distraction?

It's all names for the same sort of thing. Wax, oil, dabs etc are all highly concentrated THC, much more so then you would find naturally.

Yah the vaporizer pen I have takes wax ..I'm not too crazy about it but it does work well if you are trying to be discreet and can't have the odor or smoke of marijuana ....

I'm not really sure... But if you think about it, noise canceling ear plugs and headphones are basically the same thing... And everyone wears ear plugs anyways, because of all the jack hammering and whatnot going on... So I just put in headphones instead

Got to mow a field today I didn't get to last year... must be about an acre, I ran out of gas. (that's my fuel gauge, acre per tank) Nice rolling hillside with a few trees. Some are going to have to come down though... Damn ash borer. I've been cutting up the dead fall ash and the wood is perfectly fine. They eat the skin, kills the tree.

Ortus - try downloading some of Dan Carlin's Hardcore History podcasts. They're long and really interesting.

Also there is a book by Bill Bryson called "A Short History of Nearly Everything" which is really, really interesting. I downloaded the audiobook from the pirate bay a while back, it is probably still there. If you can't find it, I can always e-mail it to you or something.
