Aye, I love charity shops, you can usually find some pretty cool trinkets in there. Oxfam bookshops, especially in university towns, are a gold mine of cheap books for students....
Ooh and you can get the religious books from the Salvation Army for free I'm not buddhist, but i picked up a real interesting big heavy hardback book from there
We love charity shops, got some great stuff from them, and we recycle things we no longer need by donating.
the Marie Curie shop where i live is awesome. every time i go in there with spare cash, i always come out broke with a big bag full of stuff. last week i got a big cushion with an elephant embroidered onto it, and two videos ("Ali G, Innit" and "Carry on Matron")! charity shops are brilliant places.
charity shops are looked down on by snobs. but i found a brilliant waistcoat in one that i wore for comedy purposes. once when it started pissing down unexpectedly in the middle of a sunny day, my mate bought a coat coz all he was wearing was a t-shirt. £2.50 for a thick as fuck coat that proved more than beneficial (we skinned up under it later that day too). marvellous stuff.
well, what can i say. locations differ. maybe the snobs where you worked were snobs of a pleasant nature. but round here, they are snobbish bastards. i'm sure you know the type, shop in the dearest places for first hand items. typical snobbery. *somehow the entire formatting of this post fucked up. looks nice though, bit of a colour change*
Our local Barnados is pretty sweet. Got me a very nice 3/4 length duffle coat there for a fiver! Still in good nick too despite it being about 30 years old Games too have you noticed? You can get some classics! Board games and that I mean.
just got three cassette tapes for onenifty .........specials.........guns n roses .........dire straits .........a musical night ahead
my school are being all americanized and we are having a prom (oh, what joy...), so i'm currently searching the charity shops for a nice dress.
I work in an age concern and they are excellent I dont buy anything from all them other shops - give me a street of charity shops and im happy for ages - Aladins cave is the best way of describing it lol
got a great bargain yesterday fleetwood mac concert video called dance 22 live tracks for a £1 .........will have a spliffing time watchin it later
I dont really buy from charity shops but I go in there regulary to take my old clothes in (do my bit)..............
My sister runs the local Red Cross shop. She has had to do some studying on antiques because some of the stuff they get handed in can be quite valuable. I like to check the puzzles they sometimes get.

Nice horde. I love going to Charity shops at night, you find so much stuff left outside. I found all sorts of records and books last time I passed one.
