I'm an experienced flyer, and I carry on everything. You know what I do if I'm traveling more than 4 days? I wash clothes. My roommate went out of town with me, I had no problems of course, carry on. They lost his bag, and are still trying to deliver it. Seriously, you have to be going somewhere for a while or need to bring your guitar. Otherwise why pay $30 round trip to have a few extra pair of pants?
This is true, especially in Asia. Where you can just buy cheap shirts once you are at your final destination. (10 yuan for basic shirt here in China for instance, or less than $1.50, more or less the same throughout Asia) It makes certain things kind of annoying though. like you can not carry certain hygienic things in large quantities, but only the 3 ounces. I will try to do carry on only for my next flight in ten days.
I'm a globe trotter at heart. Flying over the rockies and through the desert on a clear day is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.
I would love to travel and see the world, and plan on it someday.. I just wish there were another way other than flying
There are boats. A more fun way of traveling shorter distance with enough time. But part of being a globetrotter is conquering fear babe.
i love flying and travelling when i went to europe last year my backpack was too big to be checked normally and i was so afraid that they'd lose it, but they didn't
Ugh, I know.. and I'm gonna have to get over my fear of flying SOON because I plan on going some places next summer. I have only ever flew once and it was horrible. I don't know what I'm gonna do!
I'm always flying with my guitar and always carry it on. You can actually get away with carrying-on 3 bag. A backpack or smallish suitcase, a computer case, and a guitar or a suit or some fine china... you know. But yeah, I've had to take a bag with me (bullshit charge btw) lately and I've had really good experiences with getting it fast. Actually, I've flowed way over a 100 times and they have never lost my bag. Pretty damn amazing in my opinion.
i'm the same way... i always bring my necessities in a carry on bag. i even brought my guitar, all i had to do was ask the pilot. he was cool and wanted to hear me play. they just put it in the stewardess luggage compartment where there was plenty of room. i always bring a good book too. to me, this is a travel necessity.
Oh, by the way, did I mention I was very jealous, pretty trip to Europe lady? But yeah, travel and new experiences are good for keeping the soul luminous. If I didn't have significant other plans I'd just bum my way across the world like Bird.

i want to travel everywhere i knocked the fear out of me last year it is a frightening thing to travel on your own but getting out there and seeing the world is just such a wonderful thing i want to live in europe! i feel more european than canadian
A lot of people seem to tell me I seem like I'd really get along well in Europe. Almost think it's a veiled way of calling me a little off.
It's not lies if I'm using it to try and get action. Then it's game. Which I also fail at. But I dust myself off and keep trying. So uh, what are you wearing? :biggrin:
