i dunno this is like my first post, but honestly i dont know why canadians are in iraq, its not our war, like i dont think they need all these soldiers especially when the states are in there, i dunno but i think they need to bring back the canadians from iraq
ohhh shit, sorry im a little stoned lol, but yeh i think ur rite...ummm yeh i feel like a dumass hehe =s well thanks for tellin me tho =s
There are roughly 2500 Canadian Forces serving in Afghanistan at any one time, most doing 6 month rotations. That does not include any of the civilian contractors that are there providing support, not to be mistaken with PMC's, who are also throughout that country providing security for various missions. There are a few canadian PMC's in Iraq, and if there are any canadian soldiers in Iraq, it is because they are on an exchange with one of the coalition forces in Iraq. Hope this clarifies things. Looks like the pic I posted doesnt always show....so heres an interesting link http://icasualties.org/oef/
I personally don't think the goals of the Afghanistan mission are negative (in relation to continued Taliban rule, and 9/11), except that they screwed them up. With the US parading over to Iraq there just isn't enough support, I mean if you are going into a war..............at least have the decency to finish it. Instead we have more soldiers dying than need be, the troop surge next month (I think) should provide the backup but can't help but think it's a little too late and the Iraqi/ Taleban insurgents are just going to wait it out and it'll be worse for Afghanistan in the end.
