From all the places I've been, I have to say that the sky here in Ottawa is by far the prettiest. It gives me this amazing peaceful feeling, it constantly makes me smile and is just so clear and beautiful. Especially now in the winter, it's so clear and bright, it always makes me think magical things.

Of any place in the world I've seen, nothing beats the desert sunset. Almost made me glad I grew up in the Ol' West. :D

Supposedly anywhere south of the Equator has beautiful night skies. You can see dozens more stars because the south pole is oriented towards the center of the galaxy.

Gotta go there and see for myself :D

I like the sky here on the daytime though, is just so amazing. I was gonna post pictures, but nah, is really something that must be felt.

The sky here has been gloomy and gray for like a week straight.

Even though the forecast looks promising.

I guarantee you it's better the further north you go. Yukon night, only one person within a hundred kilometres of you; it's surreal. Lasts for much longer too.

The best sky I've ever seen was backpacking in Wyoming and I'd imagine areas in Canada to be similar in many ways. :)

i miss the sky when i lived on an acreage... no light pollution from the city = beautiful skies. especially in winter. and you could hear the coyotes hollering too, very pretty

i do like our skies here still though. being a terribly flat province, you either have to like them or go insane though

Arizona sunsets are pretty nice... we took these somewhere between Tucson & New Mexico.

They say it's the pollutants in the sky that give it those beautiful pink & purple tints.

I've seen the Northern lights once. I went to Ottawa a couple weeks ago, and I know exactly what you mean Autentique. The sky is somehow brighter in Ottawa. Also, since there is a law that no other building can be taller than the Peace Tower, you can actually see the sky wherever you are in most parts of the city. I love Ottawa! These are some of the pictures I took on a regular day while I was there:

My city kind of ruins the sky for me, but out in the country its always nice.
