more pics... the moth in the second pic gestates in its cocoon for 5 years and then lives for only 3 to 5 days as a moth. it's sooo beautiful, about 8 inches across.

yeah, i was thinking while i was at the gardens that spending time with the butterflies was pretty good timing with all the stuff that's going on in my life. ~without change, we wouldnt have any butterflies. ps, the giant atlas moth must be very very wise after cocooning for 5 years with only it's own thoughts to keep it company. either that or totally insane...maybe that's why they only live for a few days?
