You know how many people want a job like that? :p

A friend of mine who had a card at a compassion club here once tried to ask for a job. The guy working the cash just laughed and asked him if he had any idea how many people had submitted applications for a job selling cannabis all day.

while in school? i think you have to be 18 to sell 'tobacco products'

plus, if you talk the way you type, i wouldnt hire you either. i second the snarky bits referring to the 'sense of entitlement' and honestly, its not your fault your parents didn't bring you up to 'hope for the best, work for the rest' as they say. life is hard, and head shop jobs are easy. easy jobs that are easy to stay employed at are the first to go, and they have very slow turn-over, on account of the simplicity of the job.

besides, its hard to get a job anywhere, and you have more 'mature' people breaking down and looking for the entry level jobs to support their families in whatever way they can. welcome to the modern day, sorry you missed the times when young people could find jobs with ease and start saving up for adulthood. im a little bitter about it too, but you cant change it, so get over it.

Keep in there trying to find a job you would enjoy. And learn to present yourself in a respectful manner.

4 years is plenty! i worked my ass off at restaurants in high school, and saved my money, bought my first car with cash (car got fucking stolen, story of my life) and joined the navy after HS. no college, and ive been unemployed since the end of 2005. saved $$ on daycare by staying home, but theres no fucking jobs now,, and we have no choice but living check to check until i find a job so that we can get a loan (which i disagree with on principle) so we can buy a house and send the kid to school(which i also dont much care for)

4 years ago you could find a job. 4 years is longer than you think. times change awfully fast, and the ease of job finding that your parents likely had, and expected to continue for your lifespan has run out. no more easy street. we young folks already know we arent getting our SS when we get older. we are getting screwed as an age group. its a fact, and its unfair, but life isn't fair. "fairs are for tourists, kid." ~dodger. try to find a bartending job, at least you make tips.

i may be only 4 years older than you, but i daresay ive been through enough to make up for my age.

I suggest widening your horizons unless you enjoy setting yourself up for disappointment.
