I was changing the strings for a gig I had in 2 hours, and I picked it up by the head. I heard a nasty crack, and looked down only to see the rest of my baby lying broken on the floor. 2 hours before a gig! Luckily, I was able to use a guitar from the band we were playing with. Devastating blow to my heart here... It's going to get warrantied, but it'll take 2 months or longer before I can get it back. I need to find a guitar to use until then. Oh, it's an EPIPHONE Les Paul, in case you thought I broke a Gibson, haha.
ya I have heard before in reviews of that breaking at the haead or neck pretty easy. I used to have one, sold it, but loved it. tough luck man
How the fuck does that happen by lifting it by the head. ....I'm never going to do that to my guitars now though lol.
that sucks man...i dont know what i would do if that happened to one of my guitars. what kind of epi lp was it?
It was a standard. I was about to put some new pickups in there, lol. Yeh Weedwhacker, I put that last bit in there for people like you, haha.
Ha yea thanks for that. But still, epiphones are pretty decent guitars, I have an epiphone SG. Pretty decent pickups, but I might change them at some point.
Oh yeah, if you find one that feels nice, you can customize that thing a bunch and have a pretty good guitar in the end. My friend almost drove her gibson sg out for the show, but she would have been a little too late. That would have been great, haha.
That blows. I'm starring at my Epiphone Les Paul right now and It really is a fantastic guitar. Everyone whos played it says.."this is an epiphone?" haha. You can find a really good sounding/feeling one if you look around a bit and skip the hefty Gibson sales tag. Lucky bastard to have a warranty!
ouch even if it is just an epiphone.... just, ouch. I would be tempted to call my fave guitar shop and inquire about a truss rod adjustment - then show up with the pieces tucked neatly in the case!
how far down on the neck is that broken. ive heard many stories of gibson/epiphones breaking but thats usually at the nut. if it were mine id just take all the spare parts you can get from it(i know its epiphone and most of the parts are lower quality but you never know when you need them) and then invest in a new guitar. spare parts can always come in handy...or maybe i just like to modify my guitars and change things. i had some old tuners then i ended up putting in a crappy ukulele so it would stay in tune haha.
