Nutella and rice cakes, gave away the scones today!

What do you feel we are known for?

Would Indians know tea if it wasn't for the British?

Sure, the Chinese, the Vikings and possibly the Egyptians were here centuries before the Brit's arrived. Put down those state approved history textbooks already, they're mostly full of crap anyway.

Well the Vikings for sure, Chinese are iffy but there have been some reports of Egyptian relics and such found on our soil, or at least greatly resembling Egyptian relics.

So yea, Columbus the Spaniard wasn't the first foreign national to spread small pox to the indigenous culture here.

ok... read ANY history books, even the bad ones (briefly because i'm nice.... chinese predated any recognisable british culture by a loong way ... stonehenge was built before the pyramids ... and the vikings liked nothing better to raid the british coast, and fight with the british, our cultures prolly grew at the same time)

Actually, I think he might be right... the Vikings did penetrate pretty deeply across what we now call Russia [by river and overland], so its not impossible they might have reached into Asia by that route. After all, they also made it to Canada.

He might have added the Greeks , since Alexander the Great reached India too.

    Nothing - should it ?

I was just backing Fritz's point about the Vikings probably reaching India.

Curry And Chips, Washed Down With A Pot Of Earl Grey Tea...[IMG].

    Cheers Glen.

P.S....Should The Occasion Be Less Formal, Feel Free To Subsitute Warm,

    Flat Beer, Instead Of Tea...[IMG].

P.P.S....Should The Occasion Be Full On "Upper Class", i.e... An Audience

With "Her Madge", Then I Suggest "Cheap Cooking Sherry" Would Be The

    Appropiate Beverage...[IMG].

The British mystery novels are the best. The inspector with his side kick visiting the locals who serve tea and always have something to hide. Love it!:book:

The stiff upper lip, the Queen, binge drinking, the inability to be stylishly dressed in hot weather, great music.
