I'm all for bringing back public executions. Because if we brought back public executions then everyone, EVERYONE, would know what was involved in them. And we could go from there.
Let's see... The guillotine is quick and fun to watch, right? Hanging you get to watch the person squirm Firing squad is a waste of bullets that are needed for WWIII. Drawn and quartered is very entertaining but messy. Electrocution is shockingly horrific, and there's not much room for the public, although they could televise it I suppose. Gas like in the concentration camps can be rewarding if you take all the persons possessions first. And guess what? The camps are all setup now, thanks to Trump. So make your reservations today! Then again subjecting and torturing people to endless lies for 11 years will kill all of us soon.
I'm all for bringing back Obama! Those were the last good days. Since Trumps first election the US has never been the same. And NO it's not great again. It may never be great again. It's falling and failing so fast, Putins having a wet dream
I think the issue was that public executions didn't prevent crimes. Preventing mental illness is probably more effective if someone figures out how to do that on a mass scale. Unless you're just in it for the entertainment of it, of course, but one downside might be that such executions could make many feel like they live in a tyrannical culture and desensitize the population towards further lack of empathy than we already have.
This country for more than 100 years had hundreds If not thousands of mental institutions. Decades ago most got closed down by Republican governments who didn't want to subsidize their treatment. So they turned crazy and dangerous people out on the street. That's one reason why today we have so many homeless with psychological issues on the streets. There are some very expensive private hospitals as well as those luxury spas for the rich to recover from their addictions or just to get some plastic surgery away from paparazzi. There's so little federal money if any going to help people with mental disorders. So sad what the Republicans have done to this once great country. Don't forget, they wanted to dump Obamacare/ ACA as soon as Trump first came to office. They still lust after that cause they'll save a few tax dollars...
