so i know i'm now about 10 months into my locks, and its a little late for a progress thread, but EFF THAT I WANT TO FEEL SPECIAL! hah, here is my timeline thread, starting from today and going till i forget i made this thread or get lazy. here are some pictures of me and my best buddy hamming for the camera earlier today and one of the back of my head. HISTORY: locks started in the first week of january 2009 done by myself no wax backcombed to start let bake about 7 months then crocheted the tips
yea, the bigger parrots are crazy, they are demanding, as far as the mental age level its appx the same as having a 3 year old child. and they NEED attention, but she (he is really a he, but we rescued him, names babbles and likes to be called a good girl so we stick with she) is really an awesome pet, and she is freakin hilarious. i was gunna dress up like a pirate this year and bring her, but i dont think security will let me into the moe. show with her
ty vibes. and yea, she loves having her picture taken, and i used my laptop so she could see herself on the screen which makes her ham it up even more.
ty lux she's my sisters parrot, but i love her. she is so much fun. she is a green wing macaw, eventually when i have my shit settled enough to where i can get one knowing i have the time and everything i want to get a catalina macaw. looks just like that one but has oranges and yellows as well. she was abandoned and we rescued her. i love her, but i'd want to get one from a breeder just after weening, as a lot of what she says was learned from less then desirable sources. we had to break her from cursing and using the n word. she used to bite at you and laugh really hard when she got you (admitedly its funny even when it hurts, but yea) also somebody in her old household got beat because sometimes she will start screaming "no, oh my god, stop, it hurts" things like that are a lil awkward
because when we got her my sister was too cheap to get her dna tested, even though its only like 50 dollars. (its the only way to sex them) and its name is babbles, which is a feminine name, and when we got her she reffered to herself in the feminine. she also displays characteristics and behavior that is masculine. she still hasnt been sexed, but due to the things she does we know that she is a male. just didnt want to switch from calling her a girl to calling her a boy basically. to much confusion because she knows herself as a girl (think traumatic childhood sex change type situation, its just wierd to everybody involved) ...if that made any sense. LOL
lol! does to me. we had a kitten for a month we called she and then he grew balls... took a while to start calling him he. it was such an odd experience, we ended up naming him Lucifer but he goes by Louie. anywhey, if I got a parrot it would have to be an African grey. what a fucking trip.
Kewl friggin dreads man. I love the psycho pixture - it made me giggle. Beautiful Bird- Don't worry about "her" little indiscretions - usually when u tell people she was a rescue, they'll understand....
