I'm stuck. I'm nearly 30 weeks pregnant now, and all of my ultrasounds point to the baby being a boy. I can come up with cute original girl names with no trouble, but I'm drawing a blank on the boy. Come on, I know some of you have fantastic names for your little men, so drop me a few creative suggestions please!! thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Funny...Brian and I have come up with a good number of boy names. It's girl names we're having trouble with. So far, we're liking Declan the most. I'd tell you more names, but I'd hate for us both to name our children the same
i'm not even preg yet and already have mine... but i can't tell you hehe... I think hindu, african and arabic names are nice... For boys i like names that start with K, N, R and S and i think the meaning is extra important here are some of my favorites: K- Kai (ocean) hawai, Kareem (generous) arabic, Koen (brave) german N- Nevan (little saint) celtic, Niran (eternal) tai R- Ravi (sun) hindu, Ryu (dragon) japan S- Shakir (greteful) african, Shay (gift) celtic, hope you like
Go away asshole....I didn't invite you here, and you've been no help anyway. Azure is still insisting we name him Micah. You'll have to take that up with her when you get home.
Here are the names we considered for boys when I was pregnant: Taylor Edwin (the one we chose) Kennan Denver Adam Christopher Asher Michael Terran Robert
Don't give him a name. Just kidding. Boy names are hard. I came up with a few girl names right off the bat, boy boy names didn't come so easy. My wife picked the name Skye and I picked the name Trypp. Seeing as how she would let his first name be Trypp we used it as second name and put Skye in front of it.
I have a much easier time coming up with boys names that girls (am not TTC or anything, just interested in names and like planning ahead) The names I liked best and want to use are those which have special meaning to me. In that they are after people I admire/care about, reflect my ancestry, are from mythology, things in nature, have good meanings. That kind of thing. Here's my current list, it'll probably change soon though... Banyan Finlay Dylan Jonas Jude Killian (Kian for short) Kiran Leif [lay-f] Leo Lennon Rio River Rowan Taliesin [tal-yes-in] behindthename.com is a great resource for ideas and other name related things.
If we have a boy, it will be Mandrid (Man-drid... like Madrid, but with an N). Manny for short, probably. It is a celtic-welsh name meaning "all powerful". We needed an M name, as my husbands family does this initials thing (has to be MDC) going back 5 generations. So, Mandrid Duncan is what it will be. Duncan is a family name on both sides..both my great gran's maiden name and his gran's maiden name. Have you looked through the family tree? Sometimes there is inspiration there.. even just as a jumping off point.
My boy's name is Lennon. (Huge nerdy hippy Beatle fan parents.) I've seen babies named Hendrix and Even Clapton. If you are into that kind of thing.
I put together a nice long list! Morgan Rowan Xavier Ciaran (Kieran) Julian Sebastian Simon Samuel Jude Rhys August Asher Adrian Leo Zachary Gabriel Jasper Lucas Liam Oliver River Owen Quinn Logan Oscar Harrison Jonas Levi Noah Hollis Atticus Isaac Micah Dorian Alexander Miles Dominic Silas Ezra Max Elliot Whatever you decide, please don't use a cre8tive spelling...your child will thank you in the future! Good luck!!
They could call him "The Clap" for short... haha j/k I have two sons... Dylan Thomas Nathaniel Alexander
my son saw this thread and called to say: "mom, PLEASE tell them to have one "normal" name. That way we can choose who we are, not be who you planned." OK, Mikael Arlo (now called Mick), it is done. He was Ok with Arlo through two school systems, but at almost 13, wanted a more common name (and a common nickname worked for him.) to use as his adolescent identity. I also know a woman named Heaven by her parents. She went on Renfaire circuit for a couple years and went by Jennifer or some dull name like that. close to the end of year two she reverted to Heaven because most rennies have hippie self-selected names. So go for Canyon Peace (was almost Arlo's name) but add one more name as an out for professions. If your son grows up to be an attorney, he'll need that sort of safety net. How about a doctor? Would the *average* person have trust in Dr. Sunshine Rayne? Name your son for the adult he can be., not the child he starts as.
yeah we're already aware of the "normal" name issue...Our daughter's name is Azure Brooke, we added Brooke just in case she decided later on in life that Azure was too weird. We've already planned on doing the same thing for this one. And thanks everyone for the suggestions so far.
I know what you mean. When I found out I was preg I had the girls name right away and when i found out I was having a boy it took forever to come up with a name. But I can't help you out much more than anyone else... I had a hard enough time on my own kid's (his name is Trey Ryver btw)
So what do you want to reflect into his soul? I strongly suggest names that a teacher won't mangle, too. You'd ba amazed at Mikael" michael (no) mikhail (almost) mickle to rhyme with pickle (no) Meek-hale (no) Me-kale (yes! but that teacher a gift certificate to a book store!) BUt, in its defense he was named in honor of NINE michaels. And one Arlo.
I know, I was thinking that. IMO, Eric is preferable! My kids have "normal" old fashioned names as second names, so if they want to be Micheal or Sarah, they can use those.
