So I've been having alot of problems with being sick and staying sick since I was very little. Each year it seems to get worse and worse. I've been on so many antibiotics that my body has become resistant to alot of them. And I really hate being sick. I take vitamin C, atleast try to take it daily, with echinacea and a multivitamin. I drink plenty of juice and water, eat lots of fruits and veggies. And I still can't seem to get over a common cold without some small complications. I try to stay away from unhealthy things, although being away from home has helped some. I'm still getting sick fairly regularly. Almost like clockworks and all my friends are constantly saying: "You're sick AGAIN, what's wrong this time?" It's bothersome, and I just want to be 'normal' for a change.
how's your diet? lots of pre-made or pre-packaged foods with flavorings, colors, preservatives? Lots of wheat, sugar, and dairy? Echinacea doesn't work for some people, especially if there's an auto-immune thing going on, and it should never be taken daily. Do you use many antibacterial products? Bleach? ((((hugs)))) I wish I had the answer, though. I have the same problem, but I also have a known auto-immune disorder. Antibiotics never help me, so I don't ever take them. They tend to not get rid of whatever the problem is, and then cause new problems along with it. My next step is to eliminate or at least drastically cut back on the dairy in my diet, since it keeps my nose stuffy, which is breeding ground for every cold and flu bug that goes around.
You could try a product called airborne the sell it almost evrywhere drugsstores, walmart Sam's Club well you get the idea. You take the effervecant tablet in water before you go to public crowded places to give your ammune system a boost a school teacher invented it because the kids in her classes kept getting sick and passing it around to evryone else. You could give it a try it is just a vitamin boost my sister swares by it for her family especially with 4 boys 3 of wicha are schoool age.
College food isn't exactly known for being the healthiest food around. I don't use alot of bleach, because I hardly seperate my clothes and I don't think my whites would look half as nice in another color but white . Yeah I'm a lazy little thing when it comes to washing my clothes, if I had two hampers to seperate my clothes into then that'd be a diff story. But I don't so I don't seperate. I wash my hands religiously and i have antibacterial hand sanitizer in my room for when I touch germy messes..I have lysol towelettes for messes aswell. I try to keep things clean because I do know I get sick easily. Never been tested for any autoimmune disorders. I've been known to stay on antibiotics for months at a time and it took forever to get rid of the problem. It is not a fun experience being hauled to the doctor each week when you have an ailment. And thanks for the suggestion Relic I'll have to look into it. But I have an ear infection and URI..and my doctor prescribed the z-pack. So we'll see how this works. Last time it made my ear drum rupture..soooo this shall be fun.
