Nice! lol, i wonder how many threads theres been on this. Schmeh, it dont bother me neways. Woo! Bob Marley, what a legend! J.J
hopefully all of the people who like bob's work dont stop there, but also delve into the wonderful world of reggae muzak
So many 13 and 14 and 15 year olds say he was a "great man"... do you even know anything about him other than that he smoked weed?
1) He's called Bob Marley 2) He was NOT one of the greatest men of the 60s and 70s 3) Bob Marley has nothing to do with the 60s
I voted "no" for the sole purpose that there is no scale on this poll. If you said, "was he one of the greatest 100 of the 60's," well... I'd still say no, maybe if it was 500. There were so many more influential people than him in my opinion. ...and I just read the actual question again, seeing that it really didn't pertain to music, so in that case, he'd be in my top 5000 of the 60s and 70s.
No. 3 vote for No.. don't realy think you want me too go over again why i voted no let me just add that i think stevie wonder deserves it more than Bob Marley.. But.. Like has been said this is a slightly strange poll ?.
wowie wow wow wow.. uhhhh top 5000 so many more people that were more influential them him? ok, but he was right there, at the top, with Lennon, Wonder, etc etc etc........................... maybe yous sayin that because you don't know too much about him.. 5 people claim to be insane.. and hopefully not counting... just my opinion, folks no need to spazz
Bob Marley was also an extremely charitable man, he gave most of his money to feed the poor tennants back in Trenchtown and other slums in the areas where he grew up. He also performed peace concerts and even had two opposing extremists from political Jamaica come up on stage and shake hands during a conflict. Bob Marley understood the need for peace and charity in the darkest of times for Jamaica and in the US, where racial tensions were still painfully harsh, and he worked to send the message of peace and love through his music and his works. That is why I vote yes. And you can count my vote twice.
I don't know how 5 people could of voted no. He is one of the greatest legends of ALL time not just the 60's and 70's.
matthew you're a slightly strange poll.. and guys marley wasn't just about the music.. if u don't like his music, fine but don't be voting 'no' if you don't know what he was about!!!!!!
One Love One Heart Lets get together and feel all right. Nothing wrong with that. He always preached love. I love his music, and his message was very important then and still is now.
I voted no because most of the people that voted yes only like him because it's the "hip thing" to do for 15 year olds and the like... I doubt most of those people have heard more than a handful of songs, and I doubt they'll be listening to him in a year. ElChivato comes to mind for this...
i would say that bob marley was perhaps the most inspired and most widely admired singer-songwriter in the history of the world, and besides that he was ,is and will forever remain soul-brother #1. ".. forget your troubles, and dance." the books that have been written about bob are fascinating.
