Boarding School?

Well next time I get caught smoking I am going to be sent to a boarding school so I am going to quit.

But in case i screw up and smoke and get caught somehow I was wondering if boarding school is even that bad.

If you went/go to boarding school, how strict is it? what is your curfew? are you able to smoke in your dorms? is the curiculum harder than you're old school? I know probably not a lot of people here go/went to boarding schools but if you have please answer some of those questions.

 

I went to boarding school, and all your questions depend on the particular school. At my school, we had an 8:00 curfew sunday through thursday, kids smoked in their rooms with varying degrees of success (most of the kids who tried were caught eventually), it's a lot easier to get away with smoking outside at various "spots" but still sketchy. as for how hard the curriculum is. i have no idea since i never went to public high school. if it is harder, you'll be that much more prepared for college.

in summary: boarding school sucks as much as you think it does, but still isn't all that bad. some kids take to it a lot better than others.

 

I think the one general consensus everyone can make is compared to public school it will be harder, and much more strict

yeah i probably will, they've just been really aggravating lately. i know they do what they do because they love me but they've just been way too uptight lately.

 

They'll calm down, you're 16 and now begins that weird phase where they know they're going to start losing control hence they'll try to be more in control

 

well my older brother fucked up his life with drugs and now has no choice but to join the military. my parents think that all kids that smoke weed turn into lazy drug addict/dealers like my brother, so they're just really worried about me.

this doesn't compare to how much they're on my ass about school.

 

boarding school would suck a big dick.. you have no freedom.. are you seriously considering smoking still? dude.

plus i heard boarding schools are run by aliens and they harvest alien pods in the basement.
i vaguely remember this from "are you afraid of the dark." may or may not be a true story.

 

no i was only wondering if you could smoke in the dorms because if i were ever to end up at a boarding school then my parents wouldn't be there to stop me.

i'm speaking hypothically because if i was like really drunk or something and got offered to smoke i probably wouldn't think about my parents and i would just go for it, and other things of that nautre. i'm going to try to not smoke for atleast a year.

i actually thought that show was scary when i was a kid haha it was on nickelodeon wow i was a pussy lol.

I was the guy in boarding school who all the stoners would ask for clean urine. So, I would be willing to bet that you would need to quit in boarding school because they have a zero tolerance if you do get tested. Your parents would then loose their deposit.

Regarding boarding school. It's good and bad depending on the school. Rules are different all around. However, it's not that bad. The classes are smaller but the work is about the same. It's also nice to have a little independance. Living in a dorm room with other guys is not as cool. But you can find some really good friends. The only thing I can really recomend if you do go is to make sure you keep your shit locked up. Things tend to disapear a lot.

Boarding school would suck. Your parents are probably bluffing, though.
My mom always told my brother and I when we were little that if we didn't behave we would be sent to boarding school haha.

 

I was never tested, I was anti-drug at the time. Everyone had knowledge that I did not do any drugs at all. It's why the stoners came to me for clean pee. They called it "random" drug testing but how it worked was that they would select a stoner by random and test them.

 

Boarding school is not cheep. The tuition alone is just as much as college and then there are the additonial expecnces of uniforms and such. Not to mention that in boarding school they try to keep you busy so if you are not doing a sport or something along those lines they usually have off campus events you can go but those cost money so they charge it back to a rolling account they keep for each student that the parents need to keep stocked up.

well its not that i thought they couldn't i just thought they wouldn't because why should they care if some of there students are smoking weed as long as its not on their property or anything.
